Class of 2019 (the journey begins) - Sharing,Venting, Etc

For the record… ‘No’ from both BW & CCM. Moving on.

Sorry to hear MTmom2015. Waiting is torturous, and “noes” are painful. All the best moving forward.

I think more painful for me than him. He’s a complete champ. Thankful for that. :)

Haven’t gotten prescreen results from Elon yet. Submitted on 11/30. :/

…

Still waiting for results from Elon prescreen.

@HeatherG I just read on Elon’s website, that invitations for Spring auditions wont go out until Jan 14th.
(lousy xmas present that is)

Wow, that is really late to notify applicants of their auditions. People are piecing together many audition dates like a jigsaw puzzle. As well, there are travel arrangements to be made (for many, this includes flights) and not much notice for acquiring these.

And fyi the application for elon is due before 1/14… One of the perks of the early bird option was you did not have to apply to the school until after prescreen results…
Every school has there process… I’m sure it will all work out for everyone… Keep on keeping on :)

Elon’s prescreen is new this year, so I’m sure they’re learning and tweaking the process as they go along.

One of our friends from last year didn’t hear back from Michigan until 2 weeks before Chicago Unifieds and it was a yes, but too late to change their flight, so they missed the Sunday dance call

Anyone else hear from Penn State today? My D received a rejection (oops – redirection) letter in the mail after making the interview cut at the audition on 12/6. It came from Admissions and not the department and recommended that she consider other majors. A bit of a kick in the gut, but, no one said this is going to be easy. :frowning: This is where I have to remind myself that they are only looking for 14 out of hundreds.

Also remind yourself that every BFA applicant is going to have some rejections. It is part of this process. She can only attend one school and so how many she gets into doesn’t matter in the long run! :)

@Divamamacita So sorry to hear that. My S has only had one audition so far, but most of his audtions are in January. Thank you for sharing about your experience. Wishing you all the best!

Sorry to hear that @Divamacita: Keep in mind there are over 100, possibly many more, available slots in all the schools to which she has applied. So while the odds are long for any one particular school, they are not so bad when you count all of her possibilities. Penn State “slots” represent a relatively small fraction of her possibilities.

We Got Mail!!! Woohoo!!! Two Acceptances on the same day!!! :D/ OK, they are academic acceptances, not artistic ones, but I wanted to see how it felt to be able to post such news. This may be the only chance I get to do that!

Also got two academic acceptances today! Pretty neat.

@Divamamacita‌ - so sorry to hear your news. We are trying to celebrate every scrap of good news we get as we brace ourselves for redirections to come… Thanks for sharing.

@addicted2MT – congrats! Those big envelopes are great, aren’t they? =D>

Confirmed: Elon is making calls. D’s guy friend just got acceptance call 30 minutes ago.
