Class of 2019 (the journey begins) - Sharing,Venting, Etc

in the same room?

Yes, usually in a far corner of the room.

That’s why it’s good to be aware that it will be going on at a particular audition - so that it won’t throw you! (But yes, I’m fairly certain that’s how the WMU audition works - but D knew last year before she went in that it would work that way - and so it was not a problem.)

Ask and ye shall receive!

Or, I tried this once and it worked (thanks @kategrizz) perhaps it will work again!

Anyone have any info on Rockford University auditions? (D has two left - WMU is one, Rockford is the other.)

KaMaMom, I’ll send you a pm. D auditioned there in Oct.

They had the same format for the vocal portion of the OCU auditon…someone on deck.

At Western Michigan, my daughter auditioned on the same day as kategrizz’s daughter and kategrizz and I sat together which was very nice since it was such a long day. My daughter auditioned for both MTP and TP and was called back for both. One caveat from what kategrizz reported was that if you are called back for TP that is also in the afternoon.

The one drawback that I saw with the way they audition is that everyone is sitting in the Shaw Theater, parents and kids. The kids go off to audition and come back with a colored piece of paper which indicates whether they were called back or not. If they were not called back, they still had to come back to the theater where everyone was sitting to gather their stuff. There were some tears.

My daughter really liked Western Michigan, but alas, was re-directed.

@LoveMyMTGirl‌ glad you chimed in - I thought you knew how the TP part of the process worked!!

It was rough for those kids redirected on the spot - so be prepared for that possibility. A girl my D knows that we thought for sure would get called back did not - so you never know what they are looking for.

Just sharing this in case anyone is interested.

For anyone interested in Northern Kentucky’s MT program this show (weekly series SHOWCASE with Barbara Kellar) will be airing on local Cincinnati PBS station this weekend. Not sure what that means for watching on-line or downloading. CET Arts is available over-the-air on channel 48.3 For more information, visit www.CETconnect.org/cet-arts/.

Ohio Northern this weekend. Anyone else???

Break legs Colin!!!

Anybody see any movement at MyIthaca?

At Unifieds, Ithaca said they would be making decisions the first week of March.

Of course. But a look at last year’s acceptance threads shows some coming before 2/17 so I was just wondering. Not as if I’m, like, anxious or anything.

^Yes, in the past, they’ve sort of dribbled out their acceptances, starting in February. My son’s year (2013) he heard in what seemed to be the second “wave,” and that was around March 5th. No idea if things have changed, though.

Last year there were a number of rejections (starting fairly quickly after unifieds) before we heard of any yeses. News came in waves- my D didn’t hear anything til late march

Just got a letter from Millikin. The answer is YES! (with talent scholarship)

Congratulations!!!

FSU tomorrow? Anyone else?

^^^At least there is no snow there! Yay!
