Class of 2020 (sharing, venting, etc)

@mtmamma2020 yes it was academic waitlist.

@Fotokat - SO Thrilled for you!!! We were in the exact same spot a couple weeks ago so I know EXACTLY what you guys went through. SO happy to read this news! :smiley:

@SingerDancerMom it reads like an academic waitlist…so why is there no artistic decision? And why would they waitlist her if she was rejected? Unless its like Elon …

@SingerDancerMom and @sleepymom I called right away and set up a visit for April 6! My kiddo is so excited! Also, I saw some discussion in another thread about how awful this process is. I’m totally on that bandwagon! I’m so grateful this is almost over and we can start focusing on the future!

@Fotokat
Hartt is a great program, congratulations to your kiddo:)

Still nothing from Viterbo… I know they just had this last audition but it’s literally been 6+ weeks. I just hope good news comes after all this waiting! I’m in a show right now and we get a spring break, and that’s my one chance to visit schools before late april! I need to know ASAP!

@Fotokat Oh, that’s really, really good news. And with a scholarship! D wanted that program- we went on campus and the info session was impressive! I hope you love it!

@mtmamma2020 I don’t know. Every school does this differently.

Webster??? Anyone have an update??

I had heard Webser decisions went out via snail mail last week but I have not heard anyone receiving one.

@MTMom98 I was told 24 total. As a person drops, they will select someone that fits that spot from the list. My daughter noted she could be interested in either MT or Theatre and Performance. Our coach told us there is often quite a bit of movement from the waitlist at Emerson. Time will tell. We plan on committing to another school then considering Emerson if she comes off the list.

@ABMT16 I had to call Viterbo and ask admissions for follow up for me. I heard back and the admissions person said my D wasn’t listed either way. After some research on his part, he called me back with a rejection. Might be worth a phone call to admissions.

@MTMOM16 - we were told that Webster tells all on April 1. That said, my daughter got an email that she was admitted for acting today (she auditioned for acting, not MT). Hope that helps.

I havnt heard from Stevens Point either. In a reply to my thank you to Mark Hanson after Unifieds, he mentioned they begin their first round of offers in mid late March and there is a wait list and that they don’t have their final class put together until further into April.

congrats @bfahopeful !!

@stagedoormama @ParachuteBoy Stevens point was on spring break last week. Last auditions were held on campus 3/12. They said they would be deciding once they got back from break and we would hear the end of March

@cicimom
Thank you! I was looking at their audition calendar and the thread last year about notification times and methods. Last year it said there was a phone call acceptances the Friday following their last audition.

Thanks for providing some solid details as opposed to my over analyzation.
Hopefully sometime next week.

I never hear much about indiana University bfa on here- Anyone have an opinion? Our current situation is 2 bfa accepts (hartt being the winner of that) and 3 wait lists (one of which is indiana) still waiting on cmu and nyu. We loved indiana - staff is so impressive and had the same mindset as Michigan (rejected) - only 12-14 per class. Other than the distance to NYC it seems like an amazing program- any input would be appreciated! Hey, we are in the homestretch now---- we can do this!!! praying for us all

@sleepymom did you get a recent “waitlist” note from Indiana or was it the short list note which came out some time back. Just curious, we were also very impressed with Indiana. Terrific staff.

anyone have any info on university of Richmond TRANSFER??? I know RD applicants are receiving letters now- please mention me in response as this is a large thread- many thanks.
