“Singerdancermom”. We just left BoCo after a pretty brutal week of touring (6 schools airplane rides… 3 rental cars… Hours of driving , and my daughter was so tired she said lets just go home … I said one more… We went to BoCo and then she said “I love the vibe here… It’s now my favorite school!” So congrats!! I got tears for you and your daughter!
Oh my gosh @musicmama123 I’m so happy to hear that!!! Thank you so much! We visited one “yes” school this week and she came home in tears. It was the best yes so far program wise, and she wanted to love it, but she just didn’t. She really couldn’t see herself there at all. So this BoCo acceptance was a much needed boost. No matter what happens now we have a school. I’m thrilled to hear that your daughter liked it so much! Is your daughter accepted too or are you touring for next year?
To the people waiting for Syracuse… we’re right there with you… Nothing yet.
Also, to the folks from a few nights ago regarding the Miami acceptances… like so many people that night, my daughter also got an academic waitlist to Miami, which we assumed then was an artistic no, but today she got an artistic waitlist too… so that was kind of weird, and way better than a no! Today has been a good day. We desperately needed one of those!
We got a no from Syracuse last night sadly. Hang in there all!
singerdancerMom. Touring. I thought seeing what she was working for would help her in act prep , grades, et. Her life is all theater, not concerned enough for grades. I needed her to see what to dream for! Btw, how do you get the names in blue on your phone?
@musicmama123 - you need to use @ not # to make names blue (and notify the person)
I’m still waiting on one school, but my heart goes out to all of you waiting on several! It’s unbearable and it’s so late in the process! The stress is overwhelming to try and get it all sorted out, financials settled, accepted school visits. I’m keeping y’all in my thoughts and rooting for you.
@ABMT16 That is sweet, but remember that one school still should not define you. There are still a 1to 1 million ways to get where you want to get. All these kids are so young…grow a bit. I come form a large family all now very happy, but no idea where life would lead them at 18…
@sbc I just meant I still need results from one school! I have two BFA acceptances! I do have my heart set on this one last school though so it would be a let down for sure.
@ABMT16 Congrats to you!! Fingers crossed that your #1 preference comes through but if not you can tell I am not a big believer that any one decision means much in the big scheme of stuff…
No, it’s very strange. I had a personal email from an admissions officer at Syracuse (we were corresponding about something else, a bureaucratic glitch in my son’s paperwork) saying we would hear the decision by the end of the day. But nothing.
@mtmomofone I’m sorry for that decision! For most of us this whole process hurts so much more than it inspires, even if the kids end up in a good happy place, which thankfully it sounds like almost all of them do.
Three years ago, we heard from Syracuse in the fourth wave on April 4th or 5th. It can really drag on.
@boatmom hmmm… okay well at least we’re not alone I guess. They did tell me by phone that they would be making decisions through April 1st. Maybe we’re both sitting in that last pile on their desks?? …Sigh…Their process seems so different than the others.
@SingerDancerMom we’re still waiting for Syracuse, nothing yesterday.
We didn’t hear from Syracuse either. I called admissions and they said decisions will go out through the end of next week.
We heard nothing either.
Nothing here from Syracuse either. But I’m glad to know many of us are in the same boat.
My d has allowed me to access the troupe fb page, and the kids are having so much fun right now! Being silly and relieving stress - so nice to see!
