You are so right @Jkellynh17. D was admitted to Vassar and got $0 aid. No need. So OP, make sure you submitted your aid docs to NYU. Maybe there was a snafu. D’s friend got into NYU and was awarded sizable aid. Her COA is down to $35k. Not too shabby!!
@Jkellynh17 - I think you are crossing threads. I was referring to a comment by mtdadandproud. I commented on the other thread too- the OP there certainly means to have a need based on their awards from other schools
Thanks @theaterwork
The thought of $35K a year still gives me a mild coronary, lol, even though I know that’s much less than the sticker price at most places (including my D’s)! Every facet of this–the process, decisions of all types, finances–is just so individual. It’s part of what makes it so interesting to me!
Hugs, smiles, and understanding nods to everyone…
Yes I might have cross posted, sorry.
Anyone get into Carnegie Mellon or get wait listed there??
Has anyone else still not heard from Montclair State?
@musicalkid98, we haven’t heard either. Probably will call them on Monday.
@myloves $35k/year includes room and board -/ that’s cost of attendance. I think that’s pretty good. Our in-state schools cost $25k/year.
Yes, I understood that. I’m so grateful my D is at a place she absolutely loves (her perfect fit) and that her yearly COA is much, much lower than that. It’s all relative…
@musicalkid98 my D. had not heard from Montclair. She emailed them this morning and was told she wasn’t accepted.
@musicalkid98 @clair74 We still hadn’t heard from Montclair as of yesterday so I sent them an email today. They apologized, said we should have heard by now, and let us know the decision. The email said “you should have heard form Admissions”, so I wonder if the Admissions department is doing the actual mailing - maybe there’s a disconnect between the theatre department and the admissions department.
@Tahuna our letter came directly from the theatre dept via email and then a snail mail followed later. At that point the academic acceptance had already come a month prior
Same @Fotokat We got a no from Montclair but only after emailing this am. I think admissions forgot about everyone. Oh well, at least we have all decisions in now.
No after emailing Clay James. He emailed sorry for the inconvenience and see attached letter at your convenience.
I have heard that a lot of kids never heard/were “forgotten” by the admissions dept. Hope they fix their process for next year!
Is there anyone with some experience with the BFA MT program at TCU that I can talk to?
@musicalkid98 … I believe @tmygirl 's son goes to TCU.
Anyone know if all offers from OU MT are out?
I’ve heard of some Hartt letters arriving yesterday but I don’t think I’ll hear until Monday or Tuesday
