@evrythingisRosie, I don’t know Deans College either but an on the spot admission is awesome! Congratulations!
@evrythingisRosie - I know Dean has an amazing dance program. I have not heard as much about its theatre program. Congrats on the acceptance!
Wow! Thank you everyone for sharing. It makes it so much easier to know you aren’t the only one going crazy! And that many are still waiting! I did something positive today that gave me a sense of peace. My daughter is in 10 schools academically. ( go figure we were worried about the grades and thought the theater part was easy! How naive!) I went on line and tried to figure out which ones had BA’s that were performance based and you could minor in music. I came up with at least 2 or 3 great options, including one fantastic ba In fact the combination seems even more well rounded!
I got an immediate sense of peace. We may still get in a BFA ( a lot out but several were while she was sick) but all will be ok. There are many ways to skin a cat and I have found the way to success in life is keep your open eyes to opportunities and an open mind to possibilities . In the meantime I am cleaning closets , pantry, spring shopping a little too much! Lol!
I also want to thank everyone for sharing. I have lurked here and there for the past couple of years, but I haven’t posted much. It really does help knowing there are others out there experiencing the very same things that we are. Congrats to all who have at least one “yes” in their pocket!
@CMB625, yes, it was the musical! What a wonderfully sweet whimsical piece, Off to Massachusetts! And how right you are, these memories will stay with us hopefully for a lifetime.
Mind sharing how you received word of the “no” for Wright State? Thanks! @evrythingisRosie
@MomofMTBoy - you seem to know something about Wagner that I don’t, even tho I was at auditions. Is it your understanding that snail mail letters will go out by the end of next week (Mar. 10) and that no phone call does not mean “no”?
I’m wondering too about wright state. How did you hear a no @everythingisRosie. Also Montclair?
@tabers I think that no call means nothing at all actually. They said in the morning audition parent session that on March 7th ALL letters go out. All letters: (1) the yes (2) the no and (3) the wait list letters. They said nothing about phone calls, but they did say that they accept 65 kids in MT to yield 32 kids in the program. I am guessing only GUESSING mind you that they are not calling all 65 kids that are on their acceptance list and I’m making an educated guess that everyone will get a letter by March 10th if they are mailed March 7. Maybe a bit later if you are midwest or west coast? I would be really shocked if they spent the time to call all 65 kids; that would be amazingly kind but really too time consuming. So I’ve kind of assumed (based upon the things that I’ve seen and heard that other MT schools are doing) that schools court some kids more than others. When a school goes that extra step calls your kid (sometimes more than once as May 1 comes closer), or the directors email directly asking if your kid has any questions, invites you to shadow a student, or puts you in touch with a current student, they are doing a harder sell. It happens to some kids, one in particular that I know from last year from our hs school was called like that a few times.
[ color=red]I don’t get how to do this apparently [/color] Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong.
@musicmama123 … what a great positive attitude you have!
I’m pulling for all you guys! Hang in there everyone!!
@MomofMTBoy you have to delete the space between the [ and the c, and then the other space at the end. Nothing will turn red until you post the comment
Ughhhh…another Friday with no portal update from CCM. Anyone else get any feedback from them from Chicago unifieds?
@nodaybut2daymom double ugh…we keep checking CCM and felt sure we might see something as it is Friday and my daughter auditioned at NY Unifieds…it’s been so long!
I think no word from CCM is a GOOD thing. Keep the faith everyone!
My D has not checked the portal for Temple she is swamped with her school play and senior project and I dont have the password its killing me!
I agree with @MTMHopeful. No word means you’re still in the running. My son got a rejection email about two weeks after his audition, telling him to check his portal. It was a no.
@lincoln56 I think the Temple notification may come by mail before the portal is even updated. At least keep telling yourself that and you won’t develop what I have…obsessive refresh disorder!
It’s hard to follow all the ways students are being accepted, denied, waitlisted etc: portal, email, phone call, smoke signal, sky writing, semaphore and snail mail. I understand different schools having different systems, but some schools have a myriad of ways within one program! I just checked & we are waiting on 5 for MT & some BA programs too.
I’ve been lurking for a couple of months, but decided to officially join so I can thank all of you for sharing your stories so openly. This is such a crazy process - but like @daughtersdreams, my S and I will be at Temple tomorrow for his last audition. We have only one official no so far, and the waiting is driving me crazy, He seems much calmer about it than I am. Best of luck to every one as we move into this final stretch - but thank you, thank you for everything already!
