Class of 2021 (sharing, venting, etc)

My S has a twin sister, and while she also acts, she is not going the MT route in college. It has, however, posed casting challenges in the productions they were in - they could never be cast in romantic roles opposite each other!

FYI, one of D’s friends just got an email from Coastal Carolina (for BFA Tech/Design), but didn’t think they would be sending out anything till next week- so possibly other BFA’s may hear soon?

@KaMaMom thanks for the thread link, i’ll be sharing this information this weekend. We still have Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Chico to fall back on but would like some other alternatives as well.

@CATenorMom I know right! Before going through this process it was exciting picking schools that SHE wanted and then once you start the audition process you are quickly humbled to please ANY school take me! She was shocked and elated when she heard a YES from Elon because she already had 5 no’s. We are very fortunate and blessed to have one school at all.

@kaf011 Congrats! Is this this year for regular decision?

@CATenorMom I think she was saying only academic acceptance. Elon MT are not out yet. I think

@BeBop1 My D received an artistic acceptance from Elon in December.

yah @FourFoxes She only has artistic acceptance still waiting on academic acceptance later this month - fingers crossed. We did regular decision. Also she is BFA acting. I know MT acceptances go out later because they auditioned later. We auditioned in Jan

Is anyone out there still waiting on U Mich MT decision? Nothing here. No portal change, no letter, no email, no call. Anyone know if all calls have been made?

There’s a letter from Wright State here…D at Spring Musical rehearsal. I’m thinking its a bad sign since most are posting they received email acceptances.

@marg928 Thankfully colleges are moving away from their ties to standardized test scores. Too bad FSU is holding onto an outdated method.

@lynwvr1233 From the information D has gathered via friends and social media, Michigan called accepted students, emailed waitlisted students, and rejection letters just went out. If your portal hasn’t changed by next week, I would reach out.

I hate confusing portals! My D got a standard e-mail giving her log-in information for U. Wisconsin - Stevens Point, and when she did one side has her status as accepted (which I’m sure is academic) and on the other side it lists her program as Theatre Arts BFA. I guess I’ll call next week unless anyone else has any super-secret UWSP portal knowledge!

@KelviVan You got further than I did! Can’t even find the portal.

@CATenorMom - From the link in the email, she logged in and then clicked Admissions, then Admissions Checklist, then New Student Portal. Not the most straight forward system - but it worked.
I’d love to hear what your thoughts on it are!

@kaf011, totally understand. FSU is known to give more money to out of state kids! Also early admission is easier to get in and gets more money. The early bird catches the worm . is so true for FSU and all Florida schools. Congrats on Elon, we didn’t audition, not at unifieds

NYU sent an email to check in and ask if we had committed elsewhere. I think that will be our last decision to come in, not including WL schools. April 1 seems like forever away from now.

@KelviVan - Last year my D’s UWSP portal always said that she was BFA MT. When we asked about it they told us it was listed because that is the major she had applied to and didn’t mean she was accepted. She did end up getting a call and accepted near the end of March, but it was unrelated to the portal.

@KelviVan how does she like it there?

Aaaaannnnndddd another day passes without word from Syracuse. Hope the waves start next week
