Yay! D got a YES from Pepperdine! She is so happy! First audition-based admit besides LMU (which was video). She had been focusing on straight acting because she is interested in film, but for this audition she sang which is her strength and I think helped her application! So nice to have a YES!!!
@ALS0830 Didn’t the call from Elon make your heart race, thinking it’s a yes?! Kinda like getting those emails from admissions and not the theatre department…Makes you think you’re in, only to discover you’re not or they still haven’t decided. It’s a killer!
Calls are great for acceptances but I do wish all the schools would email rejections the next day. Would save us all from sitting around for days on end wondering.
@remartin67 I agree wholeheartedly. The schools should all talk and use the same method. I’m sure it would save them a lot of time answering calls and emails from parents and students dying to know.
And I wish they would go back to a hard notification date. This is oh, so hard. Yes, @CATenorMom D’s heart skipped seeing a NC number. I gave up alcohol for Lent. Our Cardinal gave dispensation for us to have corned beef and cabbage today…think it applies to beverages, too?? We’ll all know soon. So glad I am part of this group! You make the waiting a little less painful!
@mommadrama - it is a good tip to get requests for letters of rec early- but as a teacher I would say - not quite yet. I am still printing out letters from THIS year’s kids for scholarships, and it is a busy/stressful time of year for us too. I recommend waiting til Say early May- that’s when our minds start turning towards NEXT year. I do strongly recommend asking before the year is over though!!!
