Class of 2021 (sharing, venting, etc)

Does Webster notify admissions decisions by snail mail or by email? They are the last school I need to hear from, and I am so ready to be done and make decisions!

My D’s Webster rejection arrived by snail mail yesterday.

Another day, another empty mailbox. No acceptances yet, nor waitlists. On the bright side, my D was cast in a professional show for the entire summer :). But seriously-i would rather her get into a program than having my lottery numbers come in!!!

I am pretty sure all the CMU acceptance calls have gone out. Maybe a straggler or two. But all portals will be updated this weekend.

@guillelm my D knows a couple of kids accepted into Webster. They got an email Sunday/Monday and a follow up letter in the mail. The rejections are coming snail mail. some arrived yesterday, some today and I am sure there are more still out there. You never know until you receive your notification, so don’t give up!

@LAM2017 Re Webster – When life gives you lemons . . . Sorry for the rejection. But thankfully you have other options. I’m with you in the wanting to move on feeling!

@evitasmom, a summer gig? Wow, congratulations! I hope that boosted your D’s confidence a bit amidst this draining, humbling process! I’m happy for her and I hope you still have that acceptance on the way!

@LAM2017 Thanks!!! I finally saw a genuine smile on her face for the first time in weeks!

@Alli217 be sure to check all the folders. The one my D received went to her junk email folder.

@LAM2017 It was me! Well someone responding to my comment about the traffic. Driving in is awful. And yes the humidity can be horrible. But sorry about the no from them! At least now you know and can not worry about that one!

@evitasmom Congratulations to your D! Those summer gigs can be a big boost in the midst of all this waiting and wondering. My D got a cast is a professional summer production as well. She was floored - did not think the audition went well at all. So it was a great boost and another reminder that sometimes you just really don’t know what is going to resonate with the evaluators - for a show or for college!

Yes! @momtojoss! That made me feel better when I remembered your comment. At this point we are so thankful to have an option at all. I can’t believe how difficult this is. We will just start to move forward, even though we are waiting for three long shots (CMU - haha). That being said, we are going to open house at UArts this Sunday. Is anyone else going? @myloves anything you recommend as a “must see”? Looking forward to visiting a school that is really an option, and not just for an audition!

@LAM2017 I wanted to take my D but she has show that afternoon. Please take lots of notes & report back! My D was very surprised to like the city campus. UArts had very nice snacks for the parents on audition day (Philly soft pretzels, hummus & more!) so thinking they’ll roll out the red carpet for revisit day!

@LAM2017 enjoy your visit this Sunday! The accepted visits are sooooo much better than a regular visit. Your child will actually be able to visualize themselves there!

@LAM2017 Encourage your D/S to be completely honest in the one on ones with the students they meet. We found the students to be really open about their own decisions and feelings on their schools. (Including UArts).

Thanks for all of this advice. @MTMHopeful there is an admitted students day on 4/1, but we can’t make it that day. That would probably be better, but we are looking forward to seeing everything we can. Good luck to your D in her show!

@CATenorMom I actually got rid of another one today! If I don’t get into CMU (which, let’s be real will most likely happen) I’m gonna commit to Michigan  I’m from there and love the program so much. Nothing’s for sure yet though

@jhayes000 some schools have been giving me forms, but usually (unless they have a place to pull your application) I’ve been emailing the heads of the programs

A couple acting calls went out for CMU today. I don’t think they’re done.
