Class of 2022 (the journey); sharing, venting, discussing

My daughter is a Freshman @ Syracuse for their MT program - went through the process a year ago - and I am happy to answer any questions.

@dontaskme1 hang in there! This is a hard process. Things will work out in the end!

@MTiskillingme I would not accept an offer until you know that they have given you all financial aid and scholarship info. As a matter of fact, I would take the initiative and contact them to say that your child is very interested in accepting but that you can’t do that until you have all final numbers to compare. They want your S. Let them think they have to work to get him to commit by offering him a scholarship. Good luck!

Any more results from Montclair? Our portal still says missing audition.

@TBurrus ours say the same thing but she just auditioned last Saturday

@uskoolfish Thanks, that’s what I was thinking, but we hate to drag our feet when we know that other students are waiting.

My Montclair portal doesn’t say “missing audition,” (and I never saw it say anything along those lines?) but my profile still says Fall 2018/freshman/Musical Theatre. I keep refreshing it to see if a decision had been made, but nothing so far.

@DramaMan Yea for your S!!! My D also thought her BU BFA-Acting audition was THE WORST EVER (last up; auditors there an hour later than scheduled; auditor “sarcastic” about resume; etc. but she said he stared at her for 5 seconds, right at her, after her last monologue and then ended the audition. She was like “well, blew that one!” but I have a feeling that what these kids may think is “bad” is often “real” and that “real” is what matters most.

@mthopeful17 - exactly the same situation here! When did you audition for Montclair?

Thanks @anotherBwaymom. I probably got the wording wrong. But basically no results yet. We auditioned at Chicago Unifieds.

Does anyone know if there is a post that shows when acceptances or decisions were sent out from each school in years past? Seems like I saw one before, but can’t find it now. This is the LONGEST month.

@notforthefaintofheart Oh, good to know I’m not the only one! I auditioned for Montclair at NY unifieds on Jan 21.

@notforthefaintofheart not specifically but I’m pretty sure I put all dates next to my D’s acceptances last year on the Acceptance thread. I think it was on the one that was by name, not by School. That was in the theater forum though. Not sure if the MT people did the same.

This took a long time, but I looked at the "MT Acceptances for 2021 and scrolled through to see the dates for when my D’s colleges started to show up on the list!

^^^ @notforthefaintofheart - #2050 was in answer to your question posted above in #2050 (sorry I forgot to tag you on that!)

@Fergie978 thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

@notforthefaintofheart see post 1369 on this thread for a link to last year’s acceptance dates.
Interesting though that U Mich started acceptance calls at the end of February this year…makes me wonder if the other programs will start to notify sooner this year as well.

@marg928 Thank you! I will check that out too.

It looks like Hartt is sending out notifications via snail mail, in order of audition date. My daughter auditioned on campus Sunday Jan 28 and received her acceptance packet yesterday (Friday). Earlier in the week auditionees from NY Unifieds seemed to receive their letters.

@mtmom911 Congratulations! My daughter is a freshman MT at Hartt - truly stellar program! I’d be happy to answer any questions. She loves the training she is receiving!
