@mtmom911 wow that’s an hour away from my house and I’ve never heard of this! Too late for us though!
SETC also has college auditions which sound similar to this. My daughter did them during junior year and it was great practice.
Can someone lead me to the post with the most recent data on class size?
@anotherBwaymom I think this is the thread you are looking for.
@anotherBwaymom I want that too!
Thanks so much @sopranomtmom !
@Mom2E we got a no as well from Ball State for the BFA Acting program but they said they would admit her to the BA Theater Studies program and based on her first semester of work may be eligible to audition again for BFA Acting at the end of the semester as someone that is already In the school. Did you get the same offer? Didn’t know if maybe this was a standard offer with a rejection from the BFA program.
@bisouu my D received an offer to the BFA acting program at LIU in November during audition at her school for the region. Later we received a small letter from the theater department saying she was in and that we needed to complete the application etc. once that was completed we did receive a big envelope from the school congratulating her for being accepted to the school with a merit scholarship. So you should get a big Congrats envelope from LIU once admitted.
@bisouu call LIU’s admissions department. They are great to work with. They actually called me because there were some issues with the acceptd site that didn’t allow test scores and transcripts to process. So I just took screen shots of these and emailed them to the admittance counselor and she took it from there. Got the big envelope about a week after. They were very easy to work with.
@BrokeDad0530 we did get the same offer but don’t know if it is standard … Indiana University BFA MT also sent an offer to attend under BA and audition again
When we want on a tour of Carnegie (we did not apply but the students are great!) one of the students happened to be from a city about 30 minutes from where we live in TN. She had auditioned the previous year and did not get in but did the same as your daughter and now is in Carnegie. Not that it happened often but DONT GIVE UP! I am a sports person so my only story I can say is Michael Jordan did not make the basketball team his first year and look at him now. Sometimes that hunger can make them better than they ever realized!
Any idea when OCU will be sending out emails? D auditioned Feb. 2 and we were told we would hear back in 3 weeks. I know I am being crazy and more anxious than my D with the waiting!
@BrokeDad0530 Re: Ball State, our D received the same message about admit to the BA Theater Studies program with her no for the BFA Musical Theater. Still haven’t heard anything fro the BFA Acting, to which she also applied
Hopefully after they get out of Spring Break Ball State will send out all remaining rejections and offers! Seems like they’re one of the last schools to get the word out.
We got a no from UArts via snail mail. DD auditioned at Chicago Unifieds. DD was not surprised. She said her audition with them didn’t go well.
Not sure if it’s too late, but my D is cancelling her audition at UArts on 3/17 because she already has a few acceptances if anyone is trying to get a last minute audition there.
I’m sure most kids are religiously checking email. But FYI: Texas State sent out notice last night (through getacceptd) to let you know if you are still in the running (priority hold) or not.
D got a no from Texas State last night. That was a hard one, her favorite program from auditions and the least expensive. Oh well, this should be an interesting week!
@belleforbroadway I am so sorry to hear about a rejection from a preferred program. It is so hard.
My kid hasn’t heard anything from Texas State yet. Based on the previous posts, looks like the priority holds and no’s went out yesterday, so I’m assuming that at this point no news means a no…any thoughts? Also, has anyone heard a yes yet from Ball State Acting BFA?
