I just want to KNOW. Nevermind if I’m accepted or rejected, I just need this closure.
Why do we sound like we are waiting for someone to die. Oh I know - because that’s what it feels like to see your beloved child’s dreams slip away over and over and over again… (sorry for getting a little melodramatic)
LOL I’d imagine some of the admission faculty are reading our post while eating popcorn and listening to Mozart :))
If it’s a snow day, they probably have the Decisions Submit window open but just decided to watch Netflix on their laptop and have postponed hitting the button :))
Still waiting for Emerson here. Hoping it’s by the end of the day.
@MTdreamz I’m actually across the street from Roosevelt. I could always go in and ask what the holdup is
I’m gonna give up if it doesn’t happen by 3. last year they tweeted at 12:37ish.
@actingdreams [-O<
Does Roosevelt release admissions decisions and MT decisions at the same time? This wait is awful… Shouldn’t snail mail have gotten to us by now?
When your March Madness bracket is influenced by the college application process.
@jenrenalt I just got an e-mail at 1:12 P.M. EST saying I was put on the waitlist for Roosevelt’s BFA Musical Theatre Program!
Just as an FYI for those expecting Syracuse, last year we received the email about 2:00 PDT (5 EDT). The email subject was something like “Syracuse Decision” or something to that sort.
When you clicked on it, is was a congratulations letter with animated confetti .
The second wave happened the following Friday, followed by another email letter from Ralph Zito to all the people who had been accepted.
Almost immediately after, a chat group was created for the accepted class and the fun begun. Good luck, and ask me anything about Syracuse. I have my D with me today (end of Spring Break) to ask her questions.
@DramaRama
Hi from another Syracuse mom. I have my S home for 2 more days as well. Crazy to think this was us a year ago. Enjoy the remainder of spring break.
Hey All - My D auditioned for the Western Conn State BFA in musical theater during NY Unifieds. She received a small envelope today and was offered spot on their waitlist. Just FYI. They also have a good BA program and brand new facilities.
How many times have you hit refresh on your email today? /
Any other regections/acceptances for Roosevelt? Still haven’t gotten anything. Does anyone know how their system works?
Any advice on negotiating scholarships? My D got a pretty mediocre scholarship compared to others with lower stats at a school she wants. Not sure if we should bother trying.
@jenrenalt my daughter is constantly refreshing her email. This is torture.
@emdcollege glad to know I’m not alone haha
@collegemom2000 - I think it is always worth asking. If you truly want to go there, let them know it is your number one choice but you are unable to make the current offer work. The worst they can say is no. Perhaps in addition to seeing if there is a way to increase the amount of the scholarship in hand, also ask if there are other scholarships your D is eligible for for which she could also be considered. This could be anything from work/study to departmental awards, academic merit awards, community service awards, etc. Some schools also have very unique scholarships for particular groups. For example, a lot of OK schools have scholarships specific to people who have some Native American history in their genealogy. You just never know. But definitely explore what, if any, other sources of funding may be available to your D.
@collegemom2000 yes I know MT people who have had scholarships increased by negotiating
