My D was waitlisted too. I wish I had a better idea of the odds. They do what they need to do but July 15th is a long way off. She got onto Hofstra & is still waiting for 1 other. I think it’s harder on me than her sometimes.
Just checked Common Data Set for Wagner College (My D is on a “short” waitlist) It said that no one was admitted from the waiting list for 2017. Can anyone elaborate?
@fancytheatrekid I know @LBSMOM has a D at Wagner who got off waitlist and is a freshman there now. Maybe she’ll chime in on the waitlist
@MTdreamz I am selfishly hoping you are right!!
@eks2018 ???
For those asking about CCM, @MTdreamz @toowonderful @IfYouOnlyKnew, my D is a freshman BFA Acting major there. There are 16 in the senior BFA MT class and 11 in the senior BFA Acting class (was 12 but sadly one student passed away just before the start of senior year).
Here’s a link to the MT senior class: http://ccm.uc.edu/theatre/musical_theatre/overview/currentclass.html

To my knowledge (and I’m definitely still learning) there is no transferring from MT to Acting or vice verse without starting the program over from the beginning, and also no transferring in from another program. A student must enter as a freshman and complete all four years. There certainly are students who leave the program over the years for a variety of reasons.
The MT and Acting freshman classes this year were both about 18 students, I believe.
@MTdreamz Sorry, that was unclear!! Haha, I am on the priority waitlist for Ball State. That being said I definitely wouldn’t mind if another spot were to open up!!
@eks2018 I see!! LOL My D has a friend on the waitlist too. She also has 2 friends that are freshman in the program pulling for her to go there…and they both LOVE it! She is shadowing for a day next week and we are seeing the musical…but I think it will come down to the dance class options. Believe me, I want this decision made ASAP!
@fancytheatrekid not true on the data. My D was also sent a note that she was on a very “short” waitlist and was the first or second to come off the list. Notification came via a phone call around mid April. There are several freshmen in her class that came off the waitlist. They yielded a class of 36 - 2 have since left the program.
I sure hope my D hears from some schools this week. She’s still waiting to hear from 6 schools. Our Spring Break is next week, and it sure would be nice to get some good news before then.
We are looking for more responses as well this week. Anybody know when University of Miami will notify?
So I just got off the phone with PACE perf Arts dept…they said that although MT acceptance calls have been made there are still acceptances yet to go! Could still be a call and/or mail. And if you don’t hear by April 1st then give them a call. But no call doesn’t mean no go. “So you’re saying there’s a chance?” Ala Dumb & Dumber;) Ugh! My poor D. We should hear from BOCO by then as well. Side note: these are the only school age applied to! The list just got shorter and shorter as we made visits etc. and really took location to heart. I couldn’t steer her otherwise. If we don’t get into neither then lesson learned and I’m sure she’ll be applying to many more next year. Crossing fingers and toes to all still waiting.
My daughter knows a girl who is now a Freshman BFA acting student at a great school who just never heard ANYTHING back from Pace. After the callback …after everything. She jokes about it- that she is still waiting to hear from Pace. I liked it there and my daughter loved it but that’s just ridiculous. I’m not sure what this says about them.
@laylamom S was in the same boat with Pace 4 years ago - only to find out he was on the waitlist just as he was accepting in a different program. D is now in the same boat - she has gotten no word from BFA (MT) but she gets constant calls from Admissions. Too bad she can’t take the scholarship $$ elsewhere LOL.
We are also in that same boat with Pace. I was assuming it was a no and that they just haven’t gotten around to sending us the letter! Live and learn!
^^^D as well. She is assuming it’s “no”.
You can include us in the “constantly contacted” group by Pace (literally daily emails and phone calls), but not word about artistic acceptance.
@JayCee17, I believe the University of Miami is back from Spring Break this week, so hopefully we will hear something soon.
@JayCee17, my d’s portal status says something like her “application is complete and they’re reviewing it now”. In the past they have notified the third week of March so she’s hoping to hear this week.
@LBSMOM Thank you so much for responding. Really needed to hear that. Did your D do anything special? Email, phone call, go to Accepted Students Day, do a tour?
Has anyone heard from Webster or Texas Tech or do you know when/how they will send out notices. Thanks.
