FYI: D got letter saying she was an “Alternate” in the mail from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point today. Said they would notify her “yes” or “no” by April 10.
@Noreplays2018 You are right, my S wasn’t disappointed, Webster audition didn’t go well. He is very happy to have choices, and they seem to suit what he is looking for. Was waitlisted for Emerson, so that will make things interesting - but he has good choices to commit to even if he doesn’t get off the waitlist. We still have 4 more programs to hear from.
Also, he withdrew from 2 offers over the weekend.
@belleforbroadway my D has a big envelope waiting for her from Webster today. fingers crossed for you-- it’s been a long, painful process for us!
@XMRadio72 just looked up the bfs course requirements since it seems clear my D’s envelope is an acceptance (she won’t be home for several more hours.). there is a ton of dance. And of course, Lara Teeter is a dancer so my assumption was that it would have great dance training.
@fingerscrossedMT Hope that is an acceptance! How exciting! Our mail already arrived today but there is always tomorrow…
@belleforbroadway I believe TX Tech is by April 1. Isn’t that the school that only takes 6? My daughter auditioned but we haven’t heard t thing. We do get constant emails asking her to sign up for orientation.
@isaboo Same here. Auditioned in November and not a word. I believe that they were taking 6.
@mommaofdrama I’m sorry about Wagner. Is he/she on the waitlist? Does that mean he/she can be a voice major (music scholarship) Or did they audition for MT and an instrument? Sorry so many questions.
@XMRadio72 The mother of one of older D’s bffs teaches dance at Webster. I’m not sure how it works within the school – how many classes are available, who takes what – but she’s phenomenal. And, yes, Lara Teeter is a dancer, so he understands the importance of it.
The twins have graduated. No clue if their mom is still around here, but it’s funny to read that comment here and think, “Oh, hey, I know who you’re talking about!” I assume it’s the same ones, at least, since I doubt they’ve had that many sets of twins in the past few years.
@lazs91 were you referring to Webster when you were talking about the metro passes? If so, I wouldn’t get too excited about public transportation in the St Louis metro area. It’s notably dismal.
Another day without any calls, mail or emails. Sigh
@fancytheatrekid, no waitlist and I guess that you can receive the music scholarship without majoring in anything musical. She did the audition for the scholarship the same day as the MT audition. It went better than the audition itself! lol She isn’t interested in anything else.
Does anyone know anything about the program at Manhattanville college? They are auditioning March 28 and I have been unable to find much of anything on the program. Thanks in advance!
Has anyone else not heard from Ball State? Still waiting here…
@anotherMTmamma we are still waiting to hear from Ball State, among others.
Also still waiting to hear from Ball State and one other. Appreciate hearing that we are not alone!
Still waiting too
@XMRadio72 -it has to be better than Phoenix! Lol!
My D is a 2010 MT graduate from Webster. I have also hired many Webster students and graduates for our summer stock program in Montana so I keep up with the program. She loved Webster and working with the Rep was also a huge plus. She took dance classes during her 4 years there but I believe that the involvement in dance has gotten better in the last 8 years than it was while she was there. She enjoyed the dance faculty and took as many classes as she could fit into her schedule. They are great about keeping in touch with their alums too.
@XMRadio72 5pants (Sue) twin sons were 2 years older than my D at Webster. There was another set of twins that were there more recently but I’m sure Sue is who @jamieandwinthrop is referring to. She’s great and so are her sons.
@lazs91 were you referring to Webster when you were talking about the metro passes? If so, I wouldn’t get too excited about public transportation in the St Louis metro area. It’s notably dismal. SO TRUE!
@fingerscrossedMT - congrats! Even though my D graduated 8 years ago (how can that be) I still keep up with the program and would be happy to answer any questions.
@belleforbroadway I hope it’s good news! Fingers crossed!
