The communication with Pace has been really frustrating, from Summer Scholars to admissions to theater to website updates. They never seem to be able to do things when they say, phones ring and ring, and I feel like I do not get straight answers. So frustrating when there are other programs who really seem to have it altogether. I feel like it definitely says something about the school.
Every year numerous people complain about Pace & Montclair. They def have communication issues .
@mtmom911 Depending on which department, Pace has made some calls. My S received a call yesterday around 1:30pm. I found out that the Dance BFA program hasn’t been called yet and it looks like perhaps MT hasn’t been called either. Early on we were told to just wait for an acceptance letter via snail mail. The calls seem to be new
My Daughter auditioned at Montclair on February 17, We have not heard either way and there is no change to her portal. Has anyone who auditioned that date received an answer? THank you!
@Nordeal My daughter auditioned at Montclair on February 17 and was admitted (portal and email) ten days later.
@Nordeal , my D auditioned on Feb. 24 and was rejected on March 14. Since you auditioned earlier than that, I would call them.
My D auditioned at the end of Jan for Montclair…there’s been no portal change (still says it’s missing audition), no emails or notifications…and no socks either!!
If it has been awhile I would call Montclair. We had this same problem last year and so did others we knew. They will finally send a letter but it legit takes forever in some cases. We ended up calling and then were told it was a No and then the letter showed up later. I feel like they notify in a timely manner for a Yes but others not so much. I wouldn’t feel guilty about calling if its been awhile. I mean at some point it gets to be more then just annoying.
@Nordeal, My S auditioned at NYC unifieds and emailed them about a week ago looking for an update. They responded back that he was waitlisted but other than that email response we have had no official notification. His portal remains active but unchanged and we haven’t gotten anything in the mail other than his academic acceptance and of course the famous socks! I would have your D call or email if I were you.
My D just got an email from Montclair stating she needed to do an audition and she did one back on Feb 10th at LA Unifieds. Frustrating!
My D just called from school to say she got an email that was accepted at Montclair (she cancelled her audition). I suspect it may just be the academic admit but she’s going to confirm. How strange.
Thanks so much - that is very helpful. Honestly, though, I really was “reflecting” (venting lol) about each interaction with the school regardless of department - even before this application process - their process and followup is confusing and haphazard. It just gives me pause. Nonetheless, the arts programs are terrific, and many many congratulations to your son! (and thanks)
@stagedoormama I completely agree. This process is tough on them, it’s good that they have their own space 
My S got accepted into 2 BFA MT programs, but for schools that he wasn’t really crazy about. He loved BW, but got into the BA for Double Major of Acting/Directing and Music, with a minor in Dance. He also loved Muhlenberg and will be getting in there, as per the department head. What are the pros and cons of Muhlenberg vs Baldwin Wallace???
@Trish0118 Congrats! Did they call or did she receive a letter? Seems that they aren’t emailing. My D is still anxiously waiting. Perhaps they are doing waves. I heard the first round of notifications went out around March 9. At auditions they said mid-March. Now when I called they said to call them if we don’t hear by April 1st…
