Class of 2022 (the journey); sharing, venting, discussing

@ilovemt @Trish0118 I have not gotten a recent update - I know she was waitlisted at Ball State. She is going to a school that does not let you re-audition which she did not figure out until she was already there so ASK if that is your plan. I doubt she cast a wide net but I don’t have details. If my D did not have a BFA option, I was planning on having her go to a school she liked for a BA in MT and/or Dance and allowed a re-audition so she could try again next year.

Thanks for the info about Webster, @belleforbroadway. Here’s hoping for good news today for both of our D’s!

@futurestarmom , my D auditioned for Missouri State Feb 23, and got a “no” a week or so later. So if you haven’t heard, I am guessing your child is still being considered. My D LOVED that program, and it was her hardest “no.” Good luck!

I was rejected by Northwestern, and now I’m scared for the rest of my decisions. My self-confidence has definitely been checked.

I’m sorry to hear that @penpal11! This process is so difficult!

Do you have other options? How many other schools are you waiting to hear from?

@penpal11 So sorry! Hang in there!

@MTMOM17 Hello!

I applied to: University of Rhode Island (accepted with full ride), Ohio Wesleyan University (accepted with full ride), Northeastern University (accepted waiting on package), Northwestern University (rejected), Brown University, University of Pennsylvania, New York University, Harvard University, Vanderbilt University, Washington and Lee University, and Bucknell University

I am waiting to hear from the schools I did not provide details for.

Some of these schools are obviously reaches, and I understand the competitive nature of the admission process, but I feel bummed knowing that my chances of going to Brown (which is in my home city), are practically none.

@penpal11 FYI this is the Musical Theater forum

@marg928 You are right. I will see myself out XD I obviously clicked on the wrong forum

@MTMOM17 Admissions will notify you if accepted or rejected by April 1 but waitlists are just that… you are forced to wait until they either get an opening for you or they can just leave you on there until you tire of it and go away… sorry. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for the explanation @beentheredonethat, so we should hear from every school, outside of WLs, by April 1st?

^^^YES

Thank you @soozievt !!

Anyone else audition for Southern Methodist at unifieds? What do you think about the program?

@MTdreamz - thank you for the info and insight!

Anybody get anything for University of Miami? Regular Decision for the school are apparently coming out today.

D got the “no” from Pace via snail mail today. So looks like letters are going out…good luck to others who are waiting to hear a definite answer from them.

Crazy that while we feel like we’ve been “done” for a while there are some schools still auditioning. Two that I know of are Central Oklahoma and SHSU. SHSU has auditions on April 6th and 9th!

@Isaboo, we are done auditioning too, but I know the University of Central Florida has an audition date this weekend.

Hi there are 2 Pages for MT and Theatre for those who are looking to extend your college acceptance pool and please feel free to add programs that you know of
