Class of 2022 (the journey); sharing, venting, discussing

@fancytheatrekid it’s a no at MSM for us too. We’ve got BoCo (no hope there!) and LIU left. D is coping better than I am. At least that tells me she’s tough enough for the business.

I am loving this Ball State talk! I am on the priority waitlist and desperately hoping to get off. Reading those comments makes me so excited!!

Forgive me, but I am acronym-challenged! What college is MSM?

Thank you, @Wickersham2365! I do have many questions but not sure i have capability to PM you due to my newness to the forum :frowning:

@Fergie978 - Manhattan School of Music.

@EastchesterMom Thank you! :slight_smile:

Did anyone get MSM financial aid info?? When does that go out?

@Luvmykids08 copy the “name” of the person that you want to PM. Go to the top of the page and click on the envelope next to the globe/world. Click the new message. Past the name in the shaded box, type your message underneath and hit post message.

Boston Conservatory is releasing decisions!

Got a no from BoCo as we expected. This brings us to 0 acceptances unless you count Montclair trying to sell her on some other major, 0 wait lists, and LIU still to hear from. Preparing to launch plan B. Hubby and I have some ideas about that which we will offer to her when she’s ready to discuss. I am beyond exhausted. Wondering how she’s going to feel about being a 20 year old freshman…

@NewEngMTMom Man-I’m so sorry. Have you looked into whether she can re-audition at Montclair? Last week we applied to Marymount Manhattan because you can go there for theatre and audition in the spring for MT if you haven’t already auditioned. I hear Suny Cortland is auditioning still. May LIU be your “one” Sending you great energy.

@NewEngMTMom I am so sorry. I wonder if you can enter and reAudition. Fordham had that option in the info session. Can you contact them before looking at your other options? Its worth a shot. It seems like many do this

Boco was a No for us as well. We are Chicago bound! Glad this process is over and we can move on to the next phase.

@fancytheatrekid thank you. I will check into those. I did ask Montclair about reaudtioning and they didn’t say no, but they were very vague about the whole thing and not encouraging. I wouldn’t want to risk so much financially on an unlikely chance.

What is the general consensus about fafsa? I’m wondering if that application cost us some acceptances. There’s no way D can go anywhere without financial aid, but do admissions offices turn kids down because they need it? I’ve looked into this online and it seems like they might…

@NewEngMTMom I don’t think need would influence but I could be wrong.

I just saw the news for @Trish0118 and @fancytheatrekid - Outstanding! I am doing a presentation for our local library on the MT/Acting BFA audition process next month. I plan to use some of the posts from @Trish0118 as a cautionary tale (with a happy ending, of course).

My son’s classmate has been waitlisted at BOCO. She is super excited, but has a couple questions. Does anyone know if their waitlist typically moves quite a bit? Also, do students on the waitlist receive financial packages or do they need to wait until they get off the list before information is sent?

@Oaktree99 Same situation for my D at BoCo, WL. I have the same questions about list movement and financial aid.

Hi @Oaktree99 @MusTheaFam I know a student who got off of the BOCO waitlist last year around May 4th or May 5th
