@actorparent1 Such a great idea! She was just in that show in a local community theater. I think we can swing the 7pm show. I will look into getting tickets.
@theaterlove3 - It may be difficult to get tickets - try contacting the Theater Dept. office and ask Tracey Moore if you can get in touch with her. I would also just call Tracey and ask her about the admissions decision, telling her the circumstances. She is really terrific and if it is within her control to tell you, she will.
@gingersnap97 My current contact is Stephanie from Hartt admissions. I tried for tickets and my email response was to arrive 45 mins early and sign up for the no-show tickets. I will contact Tracey Moore in case she answers over the weekend. Thank you!
@theaterlove3 - good luck! Did you tell them that without knowing the result you will come with the hope that the news is positive? It would be odd if they mailed you a rejection, but let you tour the school like an accepted student. Surely they can tell you this late in the game.
@theaterlove3 - I hope you will hear back from Tracey, and that you get to see the show. My D is in La Mancha, but that ends its run today. I agree it seems like they would tell you not to come if it was bad news. Fingers crossed it all works out!
@BeBop1’s comment but to everyone! I could not agree more! Passing pre-screens feels great, but it is truly no indicator of success. Look at those numbers! Most programs are still auditioning 400-800 just as mentioned above. And now you are against only those who were prepared enough to pass the pre-screen. I guess I would say however if you don’t pass a lot of pre-screens, you might just want to at least add some schools to keep your list in your target number and balance.
We used my S’s prescreen results (didn’t pass 5 top name MT prescreens, but passed 4 of 5 in Acting) as guidance that my S’s severe lack of dance training (and frankly interest in dance training) meant that he should focus on Acting (where he could sing) rather than MT where he could get beginners dance training. (He also really wants to be at a large academic school.). If he had wanted to prioritize MT notwithstanding these results, we would have gotten him into intensive dance training and massively broadened our list - and then perhaps considered a gap year to give him more time. So, all in all, the prescreens were quite useful.
I found prescreens to be just as random as actual acceptances, lol. My daughter passed prescreens for some top of the top schools, but not some of the schools considered (and btw, we give everything equal consideration because we know there are so many hidden gems out there, and some programs that aren’t “on the radar” and are considered not as good bc of it are actually amazing…) much lower on the totem pole. This whole process is weird, and bizarre, and random… and everyone winds up where they are supposed to be. And even if it wasn’t where they thought they wanted, learning that all programs are as good as you decide they will be bc you get out what you put in is a life skill. In this career especially. When any of them are spending months in East Podunk, they have to be happy as a clam, even if it wasn’t where they wanted to be at that point. There is a lot to be learned wherever you go.
Hi MT Family! I created a thread so that we can see a glance of where everyone landed - by college only. Check it out!

@Fergie978 this is great! I was hoping someone would do this. It’s a great, quick resource (even though I love reading final decisions ).
I was going to post but no Missouri State BFA MT on this list. Maybe it’s a typo.
@Kkrazie you can add it in! Just follow directions on top.
@kkragemode Yes, just Copy and paste and add what you need. I copied from the last MT college acceptance page, but may have deleted some things when I was deleting all of the acceptances! There was a lot!
@MomofJ5 @gingersnap97 Nobody has said don’t come. Sighhhhhhh I keep hoping someone will say either way. Of course it is the weekend and that further complicates things. Different people have answered me by referring me forward to other people. We are leaving in a moment. If I happen to get an email on the drive saying that we don’t need to come, I will turn around. Feeling optimistic right now.
Good luck, @theaterlove3! Let us know how it turns out!!!
@theaterlove3 - I am sending ALL of my prayers your way. I know I speak for all of your cc friends, we are all pulling for you and your D. Go in with all the confidence in the world!!! Shoulders back, chin up and rock it!
@MomofJ5 @gingersnap97 We visited Hartt. The good news is that we got in to see Little Women and really enjoyed it. The bad news is that we got to the school tour this morning and was connected by phone with someone who said D was not accepted to the program. We didn’t bother with the tour. Feeling many emotions, including relief to stop thinking about that particular scenario. Glad to be done. D gets back to her show rehearsals where she is the lead and will keep busy until we hear from the two WL schools and make the deposit at the small school in the small town today. Thank you so much for your support!!!
I’m so sorry, @theaterlove3. BAL to your D on a great finale to her HS career and a great beginning to her college career!
Oh no, @theaterlove3 !! I’m so sorry! I was hoping it would go the other way!!!
Enjoy the show and watching your talented D perform!!!
BAL making your decision!
HUGS.
@theaterlove3 I’m so sorry that it turned out this way. You did your best, and I know she appreciates the last minute effort you made for her to see the school.
