Hey!! I’m ending my freshman year at WMU right now as a MT. Please please please reach out to me if your child has been accepted! I’d love to start working on pooling the incoming freshmen together… the entire theatre student body is super curious, too! Also, feel free to reach out if your child has been waitlisted. A LOT of super talented people in the program have been waitlisted, including over half of the current freshmen class, so I’d love to offer any advice/words of wisdom or encouragement.
You can feel free to reach out to me via my school email, lorenzo.santiago@wmich.edu, or honestly just text me at (586) 477-5559. You could also always message me on facebook, Lorenzo Santiago.
Haha, sorry for taking the confidential out of college confidential but I hope to hear from some of you soon!!!
@AGMomma woohoo!
@onepercentmom She is on a lot of social media and says two people heard from BOCO earlier this evening. My D got nothing and I assume the school likely is not sending anything more today.
@enzoxsantiago Did the WMU notifications go out. Still haven’t seen or heard anything for my D.
@afterp89 I know some have. I know of 2 students who have accepted their places in the class of ‘23 already, and there are a couple others that were placed on the waitlist.
@AGMomma Congratulations!!! ??? That’s wonderful to hear!!
Great news! So happy for your D and you, @AGMama!
@kalsslp He said mail was going out tomorrow. I don’t know anything other than that! Good luck!
Thanks to everyone for the cheers! This group is great. If only our kids knew so many people were pulling for them behind the scenes! Haha ?
@Karamiles @onepercentmom BoCo is on spring break this week, so I doubt there will be many notifications. But I’ll post it on “the big list” if someone on CC directly hears from them. And…just when you think you have things figured out, there are always exceptions! Please keep us posted. When you do hear, BoCo will send an email directing your student to the portal.
@DramaLlama18 I will ask my D to be more specific when she wakes up to confirm the validity of her report last night. re BOCO
@DramaLlama18 her intel is from Kickball challenge fb group. she showed it to me and I do think the person who said they received an email may have been referring to an earlier wave of decisions.
@Karamiles thanks for the BoCo detective work! My spidey sense is that there will be no notifications this week (spring break) and the big wave will be the last Fri/Sat of March - the 29th into the 30th. But now that I’ve written that, watch them notify today LOL.
Does anyone know anything about Five Towns notifications? They aren’t on the list here and I don’t see any chatter about this school.
@tatteredandfriendly Not sure how much is known about Five Towns - it used to be on the list of non-audition safety schools, but I think they went to an audition for acceptance starting this year. You may be blazing new ground.
@azmtmom13 he auditioned at Chicago Unifieds and was not on reserve. It’s okay though, as he has an acceptance from another school that is top on his list, and a couple others to contemplate. I really hope your D gets into RCS - and @CanaDad , same well wishes for your child to get in .
Five Towns was strongly recommended to us by someone with a lot of industry knowledge so my S auditioned for them - but they seem to not be well known as there is really no talk about them on these forums.
@tatteredandfriendly
My son just received an acceptance to Five Towns on 3/15 in a big envelope…so keep an eye on your mailbox. He was a walk-in during Chicago Unifieds so we didn’t know much about them going in and would be interested in information anyone has on the program, as well. Son really enjoyed the audition/interview.
Oh and congratulations on all the recent acceptances posted in this thread! I am so happy and excited for you all! I’m still praying and thinking good thoughts for more acceptances coming to those still waiting.
@tatteredandfriendly - I think buzz on these boards isn’t an indicator I would use for the quality of a theatre program. Some schools have fervent fans of parents who spend a lot of time “talking up” the program on CC and while it’s great that they are happy with a school the presence or lack of such parents here has no relation to the school’s reputation or quality. Some well-established programs have practically no fans on CC but that doesn’t mean they’ve gone downhill! Anecdotal information on CC is really most useful when considering “fit” - this parent talks about their child’s experience and it’s just what your own performer wants (or doesn’t want). So take CC buzz with a grain of salt. If your son liked Five Towns and gets in, go take a look for yourself.
D got an email today from Unv of OK: “Things are still pending. We are in the process of determining our Freshman class at this current time. You can expect to hear from our director in the next couple of weeks one way or another.” So I guess maybe early April we’ll know?
