I love that @CaMom13! Big Harry Potter fans here. Excited to hear what the hat portends!
@posivibes @32barMom yes those that have heard from BoCo are EA (which was new this year) or a few āspecialā cases - who knows the details? But most RD notifications will be all at once. I think they might release late Friday into Saturday, with April 1 as the latest date. Weāll see though! Fingers crossed for all waiting.
Then MSM kind of drifts in around April 1.
Iāve been told that MSM is officially April 1, but emails might go out tonight.
We were told at the informational meeting that MSM would be 3/29 but the website says 4/1.
Just received academic and BFA MT acceptance for D from Ohio Northern today in the mail. This a late video audition so yay! It says talent awards are a separate application/audition? Anyone have experience with this? Still waiting for several more colleges but it is definitely nice to have some choices now!
@mommyMT Congrats???
@jollyballoon I was told that the official date is 4/1 for MSM, but that emails might go out late tonight.
MSM is up on the portal.
Does anyone know anything about MSMās waitlist?
Just heard via snail mail from UWSP. D is an alternate. Just when I thought we had narrowed it downā¦
BOCO decisions are up in the portal. Best wishes to those waiting to hear!
A yes from Boston Conservatory. Unfortunately, I canāt put an exclamation point after that sentence. The BoCo offer comes with such little aid that the total cost of attendance is $23K more per year than another acceptance, which essentially makes it unacceptable. Anyone else with this experience? I am sorry to be negative about an acceptance, especially to those of you who have not yet received the offer you have hoped for, but if I can determine if this is typical for BoCo or that we canāt hope for more aid, we can turn this down without visiting and open up his spot for someone else.
@ZukAndSowash , you can do a letter of appeal and send in other scholarships D/S have received. Sometimes this will reward you in a bit moreā¦but ultimately, BoCo doesnāt have as much money as other schools to give out and most scholarships/aid arenāt huge. I know some people have had great success doing this at BoCo and other schools. My D got $0 after her appeal there last year.
D is only waiting for Rider at this point. Anyone know anything about their timeline? Should we call at this point?
@ZukAndSowash, first of all congrats!! Did you find out the aid info from the portal or by letter? My S was just accepted too.
Hey! Congratulations @valkyrie360! In the online letter there was a link (2nd to last paragraph) to go to āNetPartnerā and it gives a student ID#. Click on that link, and then click on āfirst time user.ā From there you answer a couple of questions and then hopefully it is revealed that your son got a huge award! My fingers are crossed for you. Good luck! And if you donāt mind, let me know. Iāll pm you what my son was offered.
@ZukAndSowash My D is a BoCo sophomore. When she was accepted two years ago she received scholarship money, but we filed an appeal seeking more. There is a procedure to follow, and if you canāt find the form on the BoCo site I would call the financial aid office. We shared all her other offers, and BoCo did award us some more aid. We did not receive mountains more $$$ but we were able to make the finances work. It is an amazing program. Congratulations to your applicant, and good luck!
@Classof23MTmom My D received her Rider acceptance 1 month after her audition at NY Unis. Admiited students revisits are happening this month, so I would call if I were you. However, I have heard that no news can be a good thing! All the best.
Congrats, @ZukAndSowash and @valkyrie360 on BoCo! We got zero extra $ with our appeal last year (even with huge offers from other programs that we shared with the school.) But worth a try. Jessica Raine - I named her āmake it rainā was very helpful in the financial office. We decided to stretch and go for it and weāre not sorry. One good thing is that youāre not nickel and dimed with fees and expenses for lessons or rehearsal spaces and thereās an excellent āfor lifeā alumni directory and network for auditions that I hope and believe will pay out on the back end with lots of work! I rationalize anywayā¦
@ZukAndSowash @valkyrie360 congrats on BoCo!
