@RNB2024 : Schreyer decisions are announced 1st week in March. Typically, only Schreyer students get merit aid, although there may be some scholarships you can apply for (you need to root through the college’s website).
hi, I applied to PSU, UP around October for EA. I haven’t gotten a decision yet, but someone from my school has. I don’t live in PA and applied for a BA in sociology. Can someone please tell me what is going on and when can I find out my decision?
@sa0508 I am in a similar boat and starting to get nervous. Six people from my high school have been accepted and one has been deferred, but I haven’t received a decision at all. I applied early action near the end of October with an intended major in kinesiology. Does anyone have insight on when I’ll hear back?
If you applied by November 1, you’ll hear back by December 24.
Son’s acceptance was posted this am to School of Info Sciences & Tech (OOS)
FYI for new members -
REMINDER: it does not matter AT ALL when others applied versus when you applied. Penn State decisions are not in order. All they tell you is “If you applied by X date, you will hear back by Y date”. For EA folks, that Y date is Dec 24. Not hearing even on Dec 23 does not mean you will not get in.
ACT: 32 (E34/M36/R20/S36) - I know, my reading score is absolutely horrible.
SAT: N/A
GPA: 6 (I do IBDP, so it is out of 7)
Rank: N/A (our school does not rank)
Extra: IBDP (Biology / Chemistry / Math for HL), Internship (pharmaceutical company), Not so strong ECs (including biochemistry club, creative technology club, and science experiment volunteer works at children library), Not bad essays (I normally don’t go over many drafts, but my friends liked it).
State Residency: International (British International School in South Korea)
Ethnicity: Asian (No American Citizenship / Permanent Residency)
Gender: Male
Applied date: November 21
Applied Early Action?: No (International students are not eligible for Early Action)
Decision date: December 14
Decision/College: Accepted / Eberly College of Science
Campus: University Park
Penn State was my safety, but I was so glad to receive acceptance. I got into King’s College London & University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, so unfortunately I do not think I will commit to Penn State unless they provide scholarships to me.
It looks like the decision has been made on December 5th. I simply didn’t realize it until today
To add some more stats:
TOEFL: 108 (R29/L24/S27/W28)
SAT II Mathematics Level 2: 800
SAT II Chemistry: 750
IBDP Predicted Grade: 40 (766 in HL)
got into UP with a major in biology!
@Jassongb24 Congrats. When did you get in?

I Found out Friday afternoon on the portal and received the letter in the mail the following day
@Jassongb24 Okay, thank you!!
Nervous because I have not got notified yet, Average scores and lots of extra activities
Just got an email that decision is coming soon and to check the portal. No update yet. Maybe soon hopefully.
Or did everyone who applied early action just get that?
Got that email as well. Hopefully its good news lol
@ace0919 i think everyone got the email
I didn’t think I received it but it was in my spam. If you didn’t receive, might want to check there.
I didn’t get an email. Although I am international so technically I didn’t do early action (I applied October 31st though).
