Class of 2024 Early Action Thread

Believe what you want. I’m UMich Alum, the mom of a Wolverine and had dinner with a UMich Admissions Counselor, this past Tuesday. I have no stake in this game, just here to help, but by all means go with your conspiracy theories. I’m sure they serve you well ?

Actually, there were 64,972 this year and 64,917 for the Class of 2023 last year. So, yes, they were roughly the same.

However, I was asking if you knew how many EA apps were submitted this year? Not the total amount of apps.

Every year, we have someone who posts that they had “dinner with an UMich admissions counselor.” Seriously, every year. The readers can choose to believe you or not. I’ll just say I’m suspicious of new poster, who comes to CC and posts guidance on a EA release date. If the date has been set, then why not publicly release the date on Twitter and Facebook?

It will probably be the Wednesday, 12/18 - it doesn’t make sense that it is the Thursday.

In regards to this specific topic, this will be my last post. I went back to last year’s EA thread found the Mod’s word of caution. I’m copying and pasting the Mod’s note from Page #30, post #591:

Especially someone who posts the same thing a dozen times.

If I am being honest, I secretly wanted decisions to come out today. I know the 8 years of decisions data, I was just hoping that they decided to up it to this Friday. I hovered around 2-3pm, and at one point this morning FB admissions did post something about being cold outside. Lol.
False alarm.
Good luck to everyone! (Wednesday!)

Sorry, my bad, must have missed the post on page 4. I’m an international student though, so that’s why I wasn’t quite sure.

Question for @sushiritto and @Mrs. Block

Are you saying the number of applications for EA this year were roughly the same as applications for EA AND RD last year???

Did anyone get a personalized email last week saying “We want you to go Blue”? My friend’s son got one. We did not.

i did not receive one either.

We did, but didn’t think anything of it.

For the people who got emails last week, are there any distinctions? (e.g., in-state only, legacy, athlete?)

@jayrow The TOTAL amount of EA AND RD applications for the Classes of 2023 and 2022 were about the same.

For the Class of 2022, of the roughly 65,000 total apps, there were about 40,000 submitted EA. We don’t have the amount of EA apps submitted for the Class of 2023.

@ling2020 , not for my daughter.
The email said:

I think it’s just an informative video.

Any idea when are the results getting posted for EA applicants this year. Is it 12/18 or 12/19.

Side note that many of you may be able to help me with: I have put up a Chance me in UofM, and then tried a chance me Uof M /Cornell. But not getting any responses- where is the best place to post so that people see it?
I am u sure how to link to my chance me.
 Thanks in advance and sorry for the side note.

you can try this for University of Miami

@ling2020 We did not receive the letter. We are in-state. We did not apply for financial aid - wondering if that has anything to do with it.

I think is financial aid related…not positive but we did not pursue aid and my friend didn’t either and didnt get email. Anyway will all know soon enough.
