Class of 2024 Early Action Thread

Thanks, I missed the Info for colleges (LSA and COE soecifically with that detail of admissions and deferrals ) within University. If you have a link please share.

kk

All my kid had was an AP Scholar award, which isn’t rare, by any stretch. ?

At the end of senior year, a few school awards came, but UMich never knew.

Wow
my EC changed to “Early action decisions are currently being processed. You will receive an email when your decision has been released, no later than December 24th.
If circumstances prevent you from further considering the University of Michigan, please complete our Withdrawal Form to cancel your application.” Any one else??

Same for Me!

So they are prepping the EC website for actual release day with the hope that this message will stop parents/students from hitting the site every other second. Little do they know that it’s futile!

“Slightly weaker” is relative term. We’re talking about small fractions! The average uwGPA of the entire class is 3.9. And LSA represents the largest portion of the entire class.

oh ok

UMich states they will look at everything.

ok thank you! I truly hope they do

Did everyone get the portal change??
Guys its almost here, GL everyone!!

Ahhh! I can’t attach a photo but if you go into Enrollment Connect (it’s 1:11am, 12/16 MICHIGAN time) you will not have access.
It automatically goes to a black page with white lettering : “Early action decisions are currently being processed. You will receive an email when your decision has been released, no later than Dec. 24th.”
No other options but a few peaks at what was there before. But be careful there is still a live Withdrawal link and message that pops up below the message I quoted above.

Any tells? Any glitches? For any of you?

@KSB2019 yes that page is happening here also.

Thanks for reposting. Couldn’t remember where I read it. Of course it was here! But UM does not report more.detaiked deferred applicant info.
Either way less spots in engineering. Yikes. Can’t apply to both LSA and Engin. :disappointed:

Of course, y’all knew! I just didn’t see your posts yet! Whoops!
There is a small time delay that, if timed right, you can go to the next page but it quickly catches up and you go to the black page. This is maddening!
Lol

i applied to LSA (OOS student, 35 ACT, 3.88 unweighted, and several strong ECs), but i’m worried my ‘why michigan’ essay isn’t strong enough (6 or 7/10). my actual common app essay is a solid 9/10. y’all think i have a shot?

yea ur fine chill

Your ACT shows a lot. With high-mid, to high essay writing and high GPA, with ECs you should be fine. But I will say, you still may be deferred as many OOS are at first. It will also depend on which college you are applying if you were able to dual apply, etc. As Sushiritto stated above, the numbers admitted for each school.

“Chill” is not the right word, since everyone on this site is not “chill”, if they were, they wouldn’t be here at all. Lol.

Also, what is the reasoning behind the theory that decisions come out a day before the last day of class?
Like, somehow that is better? Or easier workload, or for potential students?
Is there a reason that has been the case?
Totally overthinking. But want to know.

@KSB2019 some school release them right before break so they don’t have to respond to angry families until they’ve simmered down for a while.
