Hey guys, I am applying EA to michigan and i wanted your feedback.
My stats:
Gpa- 2.8
SAT-1100
Do you guys think i can get accepted for engineering?
Please Let me know!
@nicole20. Illinois and other schools have a much larger range of students and different GPA and stats. The last 4 years Michigan has closed this gap between like LSA and Engineering as an example. Last year LSA was 3.9 with 32-35 Act and engineering was 3.9 with 34 Act. Not really any difference. They really want a certain type of student system wide. Exceptions due occur also.
Oh, nice! Almost the same as me! I applied for math and voice. Itās hard for me to come to Michigan so Iām doing a recorded audition for voice as my final audition. I donāt think you can do that with MT sadly, or I may have applied. I hope I can at least get into one so I can pick up the other as a second degree later during my hypothetical time at UMich. Tell your D I say good luck!
Whatās interesting is how high their averages are yet they seem to defer a lot of really high stat students, presumably under the assumption Michigan is a safety for them.
@sushiritto
I hope there are multiple RD waves. Waiting until April is maddening.
Anyone have any issues on the info in enrollment connect? We were I state (correct) then changed to out of state and realized it last week, and had to contact them to inform them of the error.
Yikes. O hope it doesnāt negatively affect the application review.
How important is GPA in the admissions process? Applying to Ross with a below middle 50% GPA but strong SAT and very strong extracurriculars and solid essays.
According to the CDS, uwGPA and course rigor are the two āmost importantā admission factors. Test scores are considered āimportant.ā OOS uwGPAās skew higher than in-state.
With Ross preferred admission, a lot depends on your portfolio.
Multiple RD waves, starting 2/1, are pretty much guaranteed.
Remember, there are students who submit RD on or before 2/1/2020, post-11/1/2019. So, a deferred EA app is placed into the pool of RD apps.
The UCās out here in CA give most of us an answer in mid-to-late March and the Ivies have Ivy Day in late March. So, waiting is the game in college admissions.
I also just found CC posts from 12/19/18 and no one was sure it was coming out that day until 3 PM EST when they did start coming out. No announcement or anything, just a hint from SingingBusDriver.
@SingingBusDriver is/was an admissions insider. I hope he/she comes back this year. He/she had some great insights into the process back in December 2017.
