Others have asked to add the X as another side note for our sanity and to justify the last 2 hours of our lives.

One part of me wants to say that the “x” means that they are getting ready to have you send in your transcript later in the year after they accept you.
A part of me wants to think that you are deferred because they want your transcript again to reconsider you again in the RD process.
I guess we’ll just find out.

For all you non-X-ers like D, what is your backup plan if not admitted?
I feel like from this thread a lot of really good candidates don’t have the x so I’m confused
Went through this with another top school where people were predicting on the outcome based on portal change - turned out to be completely bogus. U Michigan is lot smarter than this and if there is a glitch in the system as some poster mentioned, that is what it is and there is literally no meaning to it.
Some of the people with no X has unbelievable stats - doubt that they will be outright rejected. I would expect that they would at least get a deferral.
I looked up other universities (with still pending results) that use the same application portal. No “Final Transcript” line in any of those. This theory seems plausible. Enjoy the process! Years from now, we will all laugh about it someday no matter where we end up.

From looking at everyone’s stats so far, unless you had zero EC’s, horrible essays riddled with grammar and spelling errors AND your teacher recommendations were actually teacher rants about how terrible of a person you were, then there should be no rejections here. :lol:
