The website is totally different than two years ago, so the disappearing “decision” tab is no longer valid. Like others have said watch Twitter and Facebook for comments about decisions being released. Will be looking the week of 12/16 for sure based on passed years and decisions have taken hours to release across the time zones.
FWIW, last year, the UMich Twitter announcement was posted at 2:16 PM EST and the first posts here on CC started at 3:01 PM EST. So, UMich doesn’t give you a lot of lead time.
Last year’s announcement on Twitter:
Where do they announce it? UMich admissions? or University of Michigan?
@jayrow I believe it is Umich Admissions on Facebook.
Hi all, I want to start a group chat on snap with some UMich EA 2024 applicants just to make the waiting a little less stressful
Add me on Snap: theopsquid
Good luck to all EA applicants! S20 is considering adding uMich to RD list. I am wondering whether he will be considered legacy with D17 there right now? Also, would it be viewed negatively that he didn’t apply EA while D17 is there?
@whataboutcollege UMich now considers current student brothers and sisters as “legacy”. And I don’t think it will hurt your son’s application. They may think he applied early decision to a school like Harvard and didn’t get in and now UMich is his first choice.
Just one data point but a CC member who privately corresponded with me in the last admissions cycle (Class of 2023) said that several UMich applicants at her kid’s HS with siblings attending UMich were deferred and ultimately rejected, including the CC member’s kid. IMO, it’s all about your kid’s merits.
UMich is all about merit
Question (this probably has been answered a hundred times but whatever):
Are certain schools besides LSA and Ross easier to get into than others? I am applying to Kines, so would it be easier for me to get in than say another school. I am also OOS so I was wondering if there were certain figures for kines OOS vs IS or any other school?
Thank You!
Anyone have any updates on when the EA decisions should come out?
Back on Page 1, I posted this chart. There were 166 Kinesiology students that enrolled in the Class of 2022, possibly a few more in the Class of 2023, since the size of the entire class grew a little.
Unfortunately, we just don’t know how many HS students apply to Kinesiology to answer your question, but certainly the stats of the applicants tend to be on the lower side of the median of the entire class. Also, some of these Kinesiology enrollment spots go to recruited athletes.
There is no official breakdown of stats between OOS and in-state applicants, even for the entire class. But, here on CC, OOS applicants skew towards the higher end of uwGPA and SAT/ACT scores.
My son received that email as well. Michigan is possibly a reach for him, so I assume everyone received it. 4.1 GPA, 33 ACT (34 superscore but I know they don’t), many clubs activities and varsity sports. OOS.
So we wait for approximately 3pm on Dec. 18th.
I wish you all luck. This is a super long wait.
Can you share the handle for the Michigan Tweet, and the FB page for admission announcements?
Yeah, the view decision tab just yeets on the D day, and the portal crashes a lot due to heavy traffic. This happened to my sis when she got her decision (UMich batch of 2024). However, the portal changed over the past 2 years, and it’s a lot more user-friendly. Hopefully, we don’t have to deal with that chaos again.
Where was Wednesday December 18th at 3 pm posted? Can’t find it.
See the post#130 by @sushiritto
I think, Dec 18th 3Pm is the best guesstimate based on previous years results dates/times. My understanding is UMich officially does not give too much of a lead on when results will come - (they may declare on social media on the day or a day before). In absence of official date, this is the best estimate.
Thanks @sushiritto
Not sure if this thread is still active, but does anyone know when EA notifs will be released from Michigan?
.
@jellaaussieshepherd Welcome! You may find it helpful to read through this thread, as many questions are already asked and answered. There are time/date stamps on each post, so as you can see, the thread is still active. With regard to your specific question, the post right before yours answers this very question.
