Can someone help me understand how undergraduate acceptance to Ross works? We have not gotten a notification. Applied EA
Michigan has always deferred or rejected people they perceive are applying as a back up to more elite schools
From the Ross BBA website:
Last year, the Ross BBA decisions were released on or about 2/1, 3/1, 3/29 and 4/19, although I canât remember any postings on the 4/19 date.
Quick question! I was just wondering how I would know if UMich requested my fall semester grades. When I go to submit my LOCI, there is no link for additional grades to be submitted like people are saying. Do you know where I can check this? Also, is there any way I wouldnât have to submit updated grades as I have a 3.976 UW GPA right now and do not want it to be seen by UMich if it goes down. Thank you!
@sushiritto If my other teacher sends a letter of recommendation will this help or hurt my chance?? (I was deferred)
@hmilo394 What did your postponement message say? I assume another teacher rec will not matter to them at this point.
@sushiritto this is a part of it
if your interest in the University of Michigan continues, please fill out the Expression of Continued Interest form in your Action Items menu.
Any requested items are due by February 1st.
We are confident that the information you have given us is more than sufficient for a final decision and ask you not to submit anything additional beyond what is required. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early April, 2020.
@hmilo394 I copied @iEngineerThings post from the RD thread here, since itâs a great post for everyone:
Iâd just send them what they request. Maybe make a phone call in January, but thatâs about it. Thatâs just me. I follow directionsâŠmost of the time.
I just got an email from my admissions counselor congratulating me and asking if I have any questions. Does anyone know if they just send out mass emails to every admitted student in their region, or is this more of a personal thing?
For Ross undegrad admission - do you first get notified about admission to university college and after that notified about Ross admission or it is just Ross?
Youâre admitted to âhome schoolâ first and then the Ross decision will come in 2020. Ross will announce the decision dates in early January.
Iâm from CA. I didnât receive an email from UM regarding my acceptance or an email from the admissions counselor. I did get an email about campus day for admitted students in my region. Iâm half waiting for an email saying, "oops, our bad - by âaccepted,â we actually meant ârejected.â
Would appreciate thoughts on a deferral and the X theory. Will also post on RD thread.
Student has no line for final transcript and no line for fall grades. GPA 4.5 W/4.0 UW. SAT 1330, OOS, LSA. There are 4 green checks next to counselor rec, teacher rec, test scores, high school transcript.
There is NOT a green check next to application, just a a rectangular icon that if you hover over it says Status: Document Received.
Is it possible that they never opened and read the application and just deferred anyway (perhaps since the SAT score was low)? Anyone else have this?
I hesitate to even ask the question and make the inference since I believe the admissions folks work their butts off for months and this could just be a glitch. But also want to manage expectations as student works on LOCI essay (love that the ârewardâ for a deferral is ANOTHER 250 word essay - might have just been easier to apply RD) and student asks counselor to submit available grades as requested in the decision postponed letter.
Thanks in advance for any insights!
Also, in the application status section it says âChecklist complete. All required admissions materials received.â
Iâm sorry to say that this is normal. My D20 was accepted and also has the rectangular icon next to Application (and also the X for final hs transcript). I donât think it means anything at all. Sorry to hear that your student was deferred. Hopefully good news will come in the RD round.
Donât be sorry that it is normal. I am thrilled! As I said, I hated to even float the theory that it was not reviewed, so relieved to hear your take. Thank you!
This is insanity. What else could you have done, aside from curing cancer, to get accepted?
- Deferred
- OOS
- 31 ACT
- 5.2 W GPA
- LSA
- Ross School of Business
- Almost all As on my high school transcript
Does anyone know the chances of a deferred applicant getting accepted?? Also does it matter what time deferred applicants submit the Expression of Continued Interest?
Im not sure this is accurate. My daughter got deferred (4.2 GPA, 33 ACT), but her friends who had same ACT and higher GPAs got admitted.
Hey guys, forgot to post here.
I got accepted to LSA yesterday from in state, I had the red checkmark when we were all freaking out about it.
34 ACT, 3.85 UW GPA (9 ap classes), female applying to comp sci.
