Class of 2024 undergrad/Class of 2022 grad: The Tours, the Auditions, the Journey

@SpartanDrew re your Frost prediction streak, don’t take it personally haha. There are crazy times. Also from reading these Journey threads it seems like Frost always changes things up a bit, so if I had to guess which school would do things differently this year it would be Frost haha.

I still have no idea where the green circle would be. When I log into Canelink my kid’s name doesn’t even appear unless I click on the side bar menu. But no worries, all will be revealed eventually! Nothing much to do around here but wipe down my surfaces and wait (kidding kind of).

Good luck to everyone still waiting on a school and it’s great to see the acceptances coming in! Next we will be getting into April Angst as decisions must be made (or will it end up being May angst if decision dates are moved?)

In case anybody else was wondering about Eastman, I stumbled across this message on their website:

"SPECIAL NOTE PER COVID 19 CLOSURE: The Admissions Office staff is working remotely for the coming weeks. If you are an applicant, you can still expect to receive your admission decision electronically by late March/early April, as per our normal processing schedule. If you need to reach us, we recommend using email. We are not able to answer the office phone, and we will be checking voicemail regularly.

Thank you for your patience, and stay healthy (and keep practicing!)"

As we all probably guessed, things will understandably take a little longer, this year.

@runninglate, our Oberlin email came at 1:20 pm ET. Was sent to my son’s email (not mine), and told him to go check the portal.

@MomOfSingers - Yes! She hopped on the portal right at noon to see that she was accepted. She’s super excited about this one.

She also got an Acceptd email from CMU re: the School of Music decision - university acceptances won’t come until later. And IU financial aid was sent today. I can’t remember who was waiting on that. The schools are working hard to get this info out to the kids!

@cellistamadre --thank you! That is super helpful!!!

@runninglate we are waiting on the scholarship / merit from IU and JSM . Did you get an email?

Just posted on acceptance thread- so far UCLA and CMU waitlisted, huge offer from Boston U came in today.
Add these to state acceptances and U of Houston; still waiting on a few more next week. As of right now BU offer is far and away the best and would cost 1/2 of a state school.

My daughter (tuba performance) heard from CMU today (rejected) and Oberlin (waitlisted). She had expected the CMU decision as there were 20 students auditioning for one undergrad and one grad spot on the tuba audition day. She was a little disappointed about Oberlin, I think, but not too much.

So far she has been accepted at SMTD (still waiting on financials), UC Boulder (still waiting to hear amount of the music scholarship she received), SUNY Fredonia (with academic and music scholarships), St. Olaf (really nice merit, both academic and music scholarships), and ASU (nice academic scholarship, kind of small music one).

Waiting on McGill, Eastman, and Blair. She sure applied to a lot of schools!

@Doransa - Yes, she got an email today from Jacobs admissions with scholarship info. She auditioned on 3/7 if that helps. Good luck!

Congratulations on the acceptance and thank you @runninglate . My S got admitted while back but we are still waiting for the financial aid.

@Doransa - Have you heard from CCM re: financial aid? My daughter got an email two weeks ago saying that it would be coming soon, but that’s the last she heard.

@runninglate yes he got a schoolarship though the university of Cincinati. If you login to the school site you should be able to see. I can PM if you want.

I just saw the updates on the acceptance thread thanks to the diligence of @tableforsix. So exciting to see them. Congratulations to everyone! And for those of you still waiting, like us, it’s almost over! That’s exciting too!!!

Any of you waiting on Frost have any portal updates? They are later this year than in past years. Hoping to see some good news on here soon for many of you!

@songbirdmama , when Northwestern gives you your financial aid award notice, does that already include merit? I only see scholarship, which I understand is need-informed. Thanks!

@Busy_Momma sending pm But CONGRATULATIONS to him and Go cats!!!

Frost is announcing after 5 pm on Friday, March 27th, nerve wracking yet exciting times!

Thanks MusicSchoolSeeker! We are waiting on Frost too, as well as MSM.

Is anyone else out there waiting for TCU school of music? D has received acceptance and during audition was told that merit info would be posted in early March. The academic award information was available a few weeks ago, but we haven’t heard anything regarding merit yet.

Anyone hear from Thornton yet?
