If there’s still nothing from Rice today, should I send an email asking about the admissions decision? It’s the last school I need to hear from before making my decisions…

Is it unusual for a music school to give a 4/15 deadline for accepting or declining merit money when decision day isn’t until 5/1? I understand why they’re probably doing this, but still…
I think that 4/15 is usually for MM.

It should be 5/1 for BM. 4/15 is unusual for BM… Which school is asking by 4/15???

Has anyone gotten an update on their juilliard scholarship? It said in the admission letter that it should be updated within 48hrs, but it has been 2 days now!
Is Jacobs still silent??? For MM a few years ago as long as you had a 3.0 GPA you got like a 4K bone. And then they would give others on top. So if your GPA is above that you shouldn’t get zero. Jeez… I’m hoping you are all celebrating and too busy to post.

@goldenmoom in answer to your question on the merit aid board (I moved over here to keep that board focused!), I don’t know a lot about SMU/Meadows but – based on anecdotal information from this board over the last few years – I would not put it in the same category as BoCo or NEC. Also, although they give big awards, the sticker price is SO high (nearly $80k!) that it doesn’t seem much cheaper than these top-tier options. Just my .02, YMMV (your mileage may vary).

Sorry this is happening to you all. I hope that a few have reached out to the school…just noticed the above says yesterday. I’m assuming people are asking. You SHOULD ask…bc it’s beyond the deadline! Just hoping there was some type of glitch.
