@AmyIzzy Thank you. Will you please PM me as I don’t have enough entries to PM.
Thanks!
Our son’s MM VP/Opera offer from IU JSOM came in via email on 4/2 at 5:20PM PST.
@AmyIzzy Hi could you pls share the appeal letter template if possible?
@bridgenail Thank You for your post. It helped in resetting my expectations.
Still waiting ???
Should he email the financial aid?
@Doransa - If you need to know before the weekend, I don’t think it would hurt to email. You may get back an automatic reply though.
There are still a number of people who haven’t heard yet.
@Duransa, my D received the financial e-mail from IU/Jacobs last night at 9:34 PM EDT, so I think they’ve been working overtime trying to get them out.
Received financial aid email from Jacobs this morning. Hope those still waiting hear very soon! Good luck with your decision, everyone!
We emailed. And got a enail bacl saying they are still working on them and they will be emailed in few days. ?
Thanks for the info @Doransa, we are still waiting also. While a bit frustrating it is good to know that they are still working on them. Good luck all who have heard and all still waiting!
Ok here is the latest news. They will reach out to us on Monday. They are working remotely and they changed the May 1st date to June 1st. I guess this will give us some more time. Let’s hope to hear back on Monday
@rubypiano will you please PM me? I can’t yet. We have overlap and wondering about your final choice of Belmont vs Berklee. Thanks!
Hi Jazzmom - my son is going to go to Belmont. He loves Berklee, but also really loves Belmont and thinks it will be a better fit for him. Good luck!
Still waiting for Jacobs financials over here too…this is painstaking!!!
Got IU/Jacobs financial info last night around 8pm
Finally we got IU/ Jacobs email, now we will need to gather around the table and decide.
I have searched and tried to find the answer to this so sorry if it is duplicate and answered elsewhere. My daughter got into Thornton Jazz and Frost Jazz. Full tuition at Miami/Frost and half tuition at USC/Thornton, all academic, plus $5k a year at Thornton. Over 4 years, about a $100,000 difference. The general consensus among our family and friends is that USC is worth the difference, especially since she wants to double major outside of the music schools. Opinions? Experience?
Oh, and one more thing. We have never been to LA or Thornton and that makes this hard as well, since obviously we cannot go now.
@Newmommy9999 , first of all congratulations to your daughter! I’m no help because we’re in a similar predicament. I did wonder though how strongly your D felt about the teacher in each school and how fervently she thinks teacher would play a role in helping her achieve her objectives.
That is not helpful for us unfortunately. She really likes the Miami teacher but her high school musical was the weekend of the Thornton auditions and she was a principal. Had to skip it so she never met anyone there or saw the school. She thinks she would love both, Frost has more ensembles which she likes (lots more) but for math, and academics in general, she really thinks USC would be better. But who knows… I think either would be great.
