I tried to contact them by email, they just said they will update my decision next couple weeks, but now it has been 2 weeks, but my application system is still not updated, my information has been completed, now I am waiting for the Decision notification.
You need to call until you can speak to a live person and send multiple urgent emails. Today.
Hi Tiffany -
Use this link to get a chat session ASAP, and put all your info down in the sign up:
https://admissions.uconn.edu/virtual-experiences
They seem to be running about 5 days behind on emails.
Also email specific admissions staff, instead of the general email.

We finally got info (admitted!) last week, and financial info a few days later. I think some applications got misplaced and were never notified.
Good idea suggesting a chat session. I did one last week and it was nice “speaking” to someone who answered my questions right away.
I got off the waitlist today for the main campus! Showed as a status update in my portal. Waiting for the financial aid. Where does that show?
My sons merit appeal was accepted and he got the UConn Award! Did anyone else get the UConn Award? The amount is not showing yet, they said it would be updated soon but we really want to know how much it is!!
@philippians happy for you! Nothing here yet re appeal. May I ask how you were notified? Email? Or portal change?
My son got the email 4/28. On his portal it reflects the merit award (he had not gotten one previously despite being top of his class and high GPA). It does not say amount however so I guess we wait until it’s updated again
Same for my son. Good stats but no merit. Appealed for $ but still no response. Given today is decision day, we’ll need to get ready to put a deposit in with another school today. (Sigh…)
The scholarship was for $5000 but they took away his $2000 grant.
So they essentially gave us $3000 more than what they originally gave.
We are in state and in our case, every little bit helps so we’ll take it!
Did your son check his “promotions” folder in his email? My son has gmail and UConn emails always seem to go there rather than the primary folder. Worth checking!
I’ll ask him to check junk mail although he’s usually pretty good about checking that frequently. Thanks!
@MThopeful2022 did you ever hear back about your appeal? We did a scholarship appeal way back in March and knew it would be May 1st or after, but…it’s now May 13th and we STILL haven’t heard one way or another. So frustrating.
Forget it…I just heard back…we were not granted our appeal. Very disappointing.
@tortiehannah I’m very sorry to hear that your appeal was rejected. we never heard anything…we even followed up via email. A little disappointed at the lack of even a response, whether it was to be a yes or no. Little things like that help you decide where to you’re meant to be…it’s about finding the right fit…and which school wants you as much as you want them. My S has deposited with another school. I wish all the Future Huskies good luck!
@MThopeful2022 I completely understand that. If she didn’t want UConn so bad and didn’t have such a specific major that not too many schools had, I’d probably do the same. So awful you never heard back. It’s just not professional. Good like to your S!!
I was accepted into Uconn Storrs campus and complete every paper work that was needed. I am now waitlisted because the due date for the enrollment fee passed and I don’t know what steps to take. I even tried sending an email telling them that I really wanted to attend their college. I am so worried not knowing if I’m gonna get a spot?
We are going to appeal for merit aid as well. I explored the portal, but I could not find a link for an appeal letter. Do you have any more info/specifics you could share about this?
We are going to do a merit appeal letter to UConn as well…do you have any advice? (My son has great academic / leadership stats…we got 0 financial need based aid due to our EFC). My son is going to graduate 11th in his class and has a friend that is 17th in his class that got 12,000 in merit aid…my son got nothing offered for merit aid. Thanks for any help!
