Class of 2024

@magnum2 We checked his portal on 12/4 showing he was accepted; about a week later he got the package but his letter did NOT say anything about scholarship(s). Then on 12/18 we got the info he got the Dean’s scholarship and on 12/23 his portal was updated with all the grants, scholarship, FA info.

@Momtofourkids thank you for sharing your S timeline. My DD was accepted on 1/8, received the packet 1/12 with the scholarship mentioned in the letter. So it could be a while for any updates. Definitely seems there are differences in how they are doing this. We’ll just keep an eye out for any additional updates. Thanks again.

D sent email to admissions yesterday. Here was the response she got this morning: “Thank you for your email. Decisions go out as they are made. You should be notified of the decision anytime between now and mid to late January. The decision will be posted on your MYUNH account first and you will receive an official letter in the mail shortly after.” {sigh}

@Summer928 Thank you!!!
FYI…we spoke to her admission counselor at UNH. It’s very competitive to transfer in to the Nursing program, even as an internal transfer. It’s mostly about space. Some years they have 10 open spots, other years, there are no open spots.

We are actively looking at our other options now. This stinks :frowning:

@MortgageMamma I’m so sorry. Hang in there!

For those who have their financial aid packages, did they come via mail? Or just show up in portal?

It came through the portal. Said it will arrive mid February through mail.

Thanks! Will keep checking.

Where in the portal am I supposed to locate financial aid info? I’ve been looking and it just brings me in circles.

check now - son just got ADMIT to engineering!

Yay - daughter just got ADMIT to forestry! Finally! just posted too

@csilva67 congrats!!

thanks @marketingmom!

My daughter’s status says Review Pending and that is as of January 2. Is this the final stage before a decision as I thought there were multiple additional status levels before that? She applied about 7 days before the EA deadline. They have her SAT scores, transcript and recommendation letter.

My in-state daughter got the nice acceptance package in the mail last week. I really liked the “what’s inside matters” thing on the envelope. 3+3 English to law school program. Direct to honors program. President’s scholarship.

3.75 uw
4.35 w
33 on act
6/220 class rank
15 honors classes
4 AP’s
No sports
Few clubs
200 hours of volunteer work
Some nice academic competition achievements, including a scholarship to attend a model g20 summit at Cambridge university in England last summer.
2 strong letters of rec

Mom and I are alum and we would be happy to have our daughter continue the tradition, but she was also accepted at McGill and she will definitely choose that over UNH. McGill international tuition room and board are about $30k right now for her program, at current exchange rates, so only a little more than UNH with president’s scholarship.

Just for kicks she applied at a few ivies regular decision. On the off chance she gets into one and they give us more aid than the net price calculators predict she might do that instead of McGill.

We recieved an email with what she is receiving and a simple “You’re In” packet. However we have not received the package in the mail addressing her scholarships etc…

Hebo05…pending should be the last step. Keep checking.

For those that have gotten their acceptances, and some of you got merid awards…did you receive your financial aid package as well? If so, how long after your acceptance did you receive your financial aid package? And did that come in the mail or was it an email, or did it just show up on your portal? Thanks

I’ve been lurking for a while now. Daughter applied EA and was listed as pending since Jan 4th. About a week ago, a new row appeared just under the application status row. It was labeled “Decision” but the column next to it was blank. We thought it meant they were actively in the process of making the decision. However, today DD got a letter in the mail that she is wait listed. Realize now that is why there was no official decision listed.
Just came on to post the info in case there are others out there like us who were checking every day. Good luck to everyone. Hope to be seeing her Accepted letter before long.

Their admissions process really seems to be all over the place. We never got an email. Only the portal status changed to Admit and about a week later, got a big envelope with an acceptance letter and the “you’re in” brochure/banner. No mention of merit. No mention of financial aid. Have read through all the comments in this board and I just don’t know what to expect from UNH now. Being out of state, UMass Amherst is looking much more attractive!

This is what we got by email:
