I’m also applying for MM programs at the moment! I have a lot more anxiety this time around because my under grad experience was less than positive, but i do have an idea of what to expect this time around, which is nice! I only applied to two schools, so I’m not waiting on anymore prescreens.

For sure! We feel very fortunate that things picked up after that first rough year. I hope your son had a great time in undergrad and that he has something fun on the horizon.

Hopefully good results from your prescreens! I feel like that’s the most stressful part of the experience. At least for my daughter, the live auditions are an easier way to perform.

My son is also awaiting responses for his MM and Ph.D. applications. So far, he seems calm. This time around, we were not involved at all. I believe he applied to a total of six schools. Does anyone know if the prescreening results come out at the same time as undergraduate? I think I am more anxious than him.

I got my prescreening results at the same time as my undergraduate colleagues, but it could be different for other schools. For IU it seemed like I received it before undergraduate students.

I hope my daughter hears something soon too! We’ve been hands off, as well, but the nerves are getting to me this week. It’s nice to have people to talk to.

Thank you! Should probably clarify it’s my daughter, lol. I’ll have to check which weekend she’s doing her audition at IU. I may be remembering this wrong, but I believe that UMich and IU had similar dates for auditions and the date she requested from IU was the one she had wanted in order to try to avoid any conflict should she pass the UMich pre-screen.

I had hoped for Oberlin prescreens tonight, but I just checked last year’s thread, and they didn’t come out until the 20th then. So may be a few more days. The 20th is when he hears from Macalester, too…I had hoped to spread out the anxiety, but maybe getting it over with all at once is better.
I’ve been checking last year’s thread too to try to work out when we might expect any news. It’s not helping! 
My daughter seems calm, cool and collected, but I know she’s refreshing her email and checking portals every three minutes.

This is a bummer about OCon. We were really hoping for that news today but it seems like it is too late in the day now. So, I guess it will ne next week.
This has been a whilrwind of a night, my son didn’t get into Brown today but then heard from his EA Clark and was offered a 30k annual scholarship with a personalized acceptance letter where they said they loved his passion for music. So that was very exciting!! And unexpected!
