Some people said they didn’t get their offer until the last hour on April 1 so hopefully there is good news to come!
I am confused by this too. We’re waiting on 2 offers over here without actually knowing whether or not any offers will come. At least in one case (CU Boulder) it was timeboxed to “by the end of March”; however in another (McGill) we were told we’ll get an email from the department with information about aid, but no details as to when that might come.
Tough decisions! My son just got an acceptance to BoCo with an award letter but no studio or professor listed? Does anyone else no where to find that info? My son is piano performance UG.
Also list of rejections and acceptances so far for the running list:
BoCo - accepted - full tuition merit scholarship
Eastman - accepted - merit $47,000
Oberlin - accepted - merit $36,000
Manhattan School Music - no news yet (April 1st)
SFCM - accepted - merit $32,500
Local University - accepted - merit $12,500 and presidential $31,000
Curtis - denied: made it through pre-screen to audition but was not accepted during finals:(
So all answers are now in and D24 needs to start making some choices; she has some great merit money in quite a few places, and is very grateful for that. I think she has started to narrow down to a short list UMich, JHU/Peabody, BU and NYU although Vandy/Blair is v interesting,
Just sharing another update regarding Juilliard. Again, just sharing as an FYI. The admissions rep for another school called my son this afternoon to let him know his studio placement. She asked him if he’d heard back from other schools and he said he was still waiting on one. She said, “Let me guess, Juilliard.” He confirmed and she then said they’re suppose to release results on Monday. So a current student is saying today, an admissions rep at another school is saying Monday. Who knows. I guess we just have to ask for patience in the waiting.
Yes from CIM😊
D24 did get an email. Not sure if it was in the portal earlier since she wasn’t looking for it.
Great question…I feel like they’d notify him either way as they generally provide an estimated cost of attendance.
I was hoping my son would hear today but we haven’t heard. Waiting until Monday. Boo!
Son got a yes from CIM too!!! (@Shula24)
I had given up hope that we would hear today.
Congrats!!!For us no scholarship yet… they said it will come in the next few days.
My son got waitlisted at CIM for BM in violin performance. He’s very bummed. In many ways, it would have been the best fit for him. Sigh. this has certainly been a tough experience!
He has acceptances from Oberlin, McGill, and UT-Austin Butler school of music (and a couple of others that I think are not high contenders at this point).
McGill is so awesome!! He has great choices!!!
anyone hear if Colburn has started notifications yet? A little frustrating, it is a serious contender if they accept, hard to move forward with the other great schools while waiting on the last one…
Although I think our son has already made his choice. Ha.
My daughter accepted Boston Conservatory. No from Peabody but sent a recorded audition. She will commit to McGill. So glad this is over!!!
Son accepted to BoCo tonight too! It’s been an exciting day but now a difficult decision ahead. Still waiting on two merit offers to come in writing and then we can hopefully lock in a decision. It’s all so overwhelming, exciting, just all the feels and hoping he finds his right place as well as all of your amazing kids!
My son also got a yes from CIM, Berklee, Boco and NYU (composition). So excited and some decisions to make once all the scholarship info comes out.
Same. But, I’m just so happy for him right now - I don’t want to think about such things as how to pay for it.
My son will be studying composition too! So many great options for your DS!
Has anyone heard from McGill jazz yet? I see a few strings acceptances have been mentioned. I imagine studios are releasing at different times? My son’s still says “ready for review.”
