S heard from Eastman today (no). Hope we get better news from another school tomorrow
In 2022 Flute prescreen results were released:
12/16 - NYU, Vanderbilt Blair, Rice Shepherd
12/20 Juilliard
12/22 Northwestern
12/23 NEC
BU & USC waived
Same schools had different release dates for different instruments/studios.
that’s helpful to even have an idea, thanks for sharing.
thanks. Waiting on IU, and still haven’t even heard about academic acceptance despite a mid october common app submission. His academic portal was messed up from the start, with things showing as missing that were there, and they “manually” made a note of it, so i am nervous that may have impact on the music end due to technicality?
Thoughts on calling music admissions to make sure all the admin things are in order or stay out of it? I hate to wait til Friday or later if there’s any mix up, thoughts? thanks!!
We had one school with an issue like this and my son emailed the admissions department to make sure it was all corrected.
We just heard from Berklee. He got in and is very happy!
My S also submitted common app for IU in mid October and hasn’t heard about academic acceptance yet.
S’s classmate received a Berklee acceptance from his October audition and immediately accepted. Don’t know if he got any merit, I’ll have my son ask.
Early action has been great for S, just being able to spread out the auditions has been a real blessing.
12/18 - Got Rice result and passed prescreen! Seems odd to send at 8pm, but oh well… signed up for an audition slot.
what instrument/major?
double bass - undergrad
Now he just found out he passed pre screen for Thornton! So happy and proud!
What a great day for him - congrats!
Thank you and thank you to all the veterans out there who gave advice during the early stages of this process! You all really helped me to help him with his confidence
Us too! D just received emails from USC and Rice - Passed pre screens. (BM Vocal Performance - Classical)
S25 also passed Thornton prescreen. The calendar is finally starting to fill in!
Passed Shepherd prescreen as well.
Has anyone heard of a percussionist getting a pre screen at IU? Thanks
I have a question. After submitting prescreening materials and applications, my child was selected as a finalist by a nationally recognized organization. Should I notify colleges she is applying to?
