has anyone heard back/know the timeframe for CCM prescreen decisions? i’m applying as a voice BM and haven’t heard back yet, but a friend who applied for MT heard back earlier today.
I am on a vocal performance parents page on Facebook. Someone posted there that prescreen decisions came out January 5th. Have you checked your spam/promotions emails or gone directly into your portal to see if a decision has been posted there?
weird, i’ve gotten nothing!! emailing the CCM admissions page now to see if they forgot to post my decision by mistake.

They got back to me and said that they are releasing all prescreen decisions in waves, and that the time you get your decision back has nothing to do with your prescreen success, so that’s a relief!

Congrats!!! That’s kinda how my son found out he passed the prescreen for Jazz Guitar. He responded to an email they sent and mentioned his audition and they responded quickly saying he passed. It was really strange but welcomed.
Has anyone heard from Bard or know when they’re releasing? It’s so hard to finalize the audition calendar. 
I know Bard extended the conservatory application deadlines through today, so that may be reason for the delay.

We received an email just before the holidays informing us that the Admissions Office was closing until the beginning of January, would not be fully staffed until January 12, and would release Pre-Screen results “mid-January”. We (Daughter) are also BM-Voice, and this is the last school we are waiting on. Since its the only one we are still watching, we check her status page regularly, and as of last night it still read “Under Review”. Voice auditions begin exactly 4 weeks from today, so I would guess they are going to wrap all of these up very soon in the interests of logistics and travel.

Last year my daughter heard from Bard on 1/15/25….Maybe today will be the day!

Has anyone gotten an admission decision from IU today? My daughter got an email saying that she would not receive a decision until Jacobs makes theirs, which makes sense but is a quite different process than what the other schools she applied to have followed. Or is this just their way of saying that if she doesn’t get in for music, they will deny her general admission?
My son got a yes to IU today and his audition is 1/30. He did have a friend that said they did not get in but were encouraged to audition still as if they could still be admitted pending the music dept decision.

Yeah, I’ve seen a few people on Reddit (after I asked here) saying that they got into IU yesterday even though they haven’t had their music school auditions yet. I wonder what caused her to be deferred? She won’t go there if she doesn’t get a spot in their Flute studio, but based on their acceptance rate rates, I would’ve assumed that she would’ve been accepted yesterday. Oh well! We’ll see what happens. Best of luck to your student!
Is it possible those students listed a second choice major outside of music? So the university is admitting them generally, but cannot yet tell them if they are in their first choice major.

Possibly? You had to list a second choice of school and major, which she did. Hers was for Luddy (Data Science). Maybe her stats were not on par for that particular school, although it appears that she exceeds their direct acceptance standards.
@INMusicmom can I ask, did your son get admitted as PreMusic or did he get accepted based on his backup major?
He was accepted as pre-music major Vocal Performance. His friend that did not get in but was advised to audition still was a music ed major. We are also in state.

I seem to recall in past years, that IU/Jacobs had some organizational/communication issues with the music applicants.
We personally had no issues, but others on this thread did.
You (or your musician) could call the Jacobs admissions department and ask. Just to make sure nothing fell through the cracks.
It is never detrimental to the musician to ask an administrative question.

Anyone hear from CCM for undergrad voice? My daughter and her friends haven’t heard a peep, and they’re freaking out because the website states, “applicants will have until January 19 at 5 p.m. EST to select their preferred date and time”, yet no one she knows has received prescreening results.
