In your opinion, what are some ** classy ** universities? By classy I mean schools like Princeton or the University of Virginia. Ie, historically prestigious and refined. Schools where the wealthy elite might send their children to be educated.

Oxford and Cambridge (UK) come to mind but that is of course from the American stereotype of English people as being “classy”

rolls eyes I think you mean to ask what are some stuck-up snobby universities. Just this thread reeks of a false sense of privilege and un-classiness. You’re one of those kids that’s gonna get bit in the ass by the real world.

Well, Princeton and UVA are good examples. Harvard and Yale too, obviously. Others that pop to mind are William and Mary and Georgetown.

Selective universities in DC and Va.

Pretty much any Ivy League…also, don’t rule out schools like Bama, Ole Miss, and Sewanee because they have some pretty legit fraternities/sororities with generations of history.

@eziamm: im not one of those people at all. i was discussing universities with a friend and we somehow got on the topic of where the Rockefellers might send their children to school so I started wondering where those who come from old money generally go to school

When I think of classy, I think of Brown… Yale… Harvard… and ah, of course… your local University of Phoenix!

I think of community college.

I think of Princeton, Amherst, and Harvard.

Vanderbilt is one of the first I think of…

Basically all top 30 American Universities. Including Cambridge, Oxford, McGill, London School of Economics and St. Andrews University. And all “elite” universities in the Anglo world.

First thing I think of = Georgetown.
