In short, teen boy who needs a new deodorant that will hold him. Any ideas?

Michum deoderant

Certain Dri (Read the Amazon reviews.)

Just don’t choose (or let him choose) Axe products:
[For Tween Boys, Masculinity in a Spray Can - NYTimes.com](<a href=“For Tween Boys, Masculinity in a Spray Can - The New York Times”>For Tween Boys, Masculinity in a Spray Can - The New York Times). When my daughter was in high school she would laugh/complain about walking down the hallway where the freshmen lockers were and being gagged by the aroma of concentrated Axe.

Just don’t choose (or let him choose) Axe products:

I hope their 15 min of popularity is up. :p

S1 has moved on from Axe to Old Spice “Swagger” which seems to be the number one choice of his baseball/hockey teams.

Old Spice stick and spray products are popular, probably because of the commercials and the attractive packaging. You might have higher acceptance by leaving an Old Spice product around and they actually do have some nice scents.

*actually I meant to write Mitchum deorderant. It works VERY WELL for teenage boys or just very sweaty young men.

I say Mitchum, too.

I have trouble with most deodorants/antiperspirants breaking down by the end of the day. Of the regular brands not marketed specifically to people with excessive perspiration, Arid aerosol is easily the best for me. But Mitchum is a step above that.

If not already, use an antibacterial body wash in the summer.

You felt the need to correct Mitchum, but not deodorant?

Old Spice High Endurance and Old Spice Sweat Defense are pretty good.

Some teenagers do not know the difference between an antiperspirant/deodorant and just a plain deodorant.

I break it into season because I live in the south. For the summer I use an antiperspirant/deodorant. When the weather starts being in the 80’s and 70’s (instead of the 100’s and 90’s) I use a plain deodorant.

I don’t know if it works for teenage boys, but the Clinical Strength Dove and Secret both work fantastically for me. you put them on at night, before bed, and they somehow work overnight. I don’t sweat under my arms when I use it.

My boys use Degree Clinical Strength and swear by it.

I’ll be the hippie and suggest an underarm salt crystal. I tried one a few years ago for a few months and was amazed at how well it worked. Until then I thought it was some new-age nuttiness, like using magnets to align your chakras with your midichlorians or something. The Wikipedia article on deodorant explains how salts suppress sweating. I guess the advantage of a salt crystal, as opposed to a slick substance that contains salts, is that the slick substance doesn’t stain the pits of your shirt.

Old Spice, hands down.

this thread title made me think of the young character, Brick, on the ABC Comedy, The Middle…

but, anyway, before I digress, I have heard from many sources that deodorant works best if applied at night before bed (as well as in the morning)…

Well, sure, and it works even better if you apply it every five minutes.

Those deodorants that have “Clinical Strength” versions.

Also…some deodorant body powder (like Shower to Shower) on the chest and back.

Some spray some antiperspirant on their chests to keep the moisture down.

While living in China for 5 years my son used plain alcohol -very cheap and effective ,according to him . No male deodorants there !
