Clemson Admissions - Class of 2023 DISCUSSION

@SCTwinsMom I am in SC and work in a large school district in the college readiness department. I can tell you that Clemson started raising their admissions standards about 15 years ago if not more. So many students were not getting in after the state lottery began, in fact, that Clemson had to start the Bridge program - the first in the state. Many students of alumni were not getting in and the Bridge became their only way in. Twelve or so years ago my 1250 SAT and 3.5 GPA niece was put into the Bridge program. She later graduated with a masters degree from an Ivy League school. So, Clemson has been very, very competitive for at least 15 years if not longer and graduates great students. My D has been accepted into the class of 23 and I am thrilled about it.

I’m so anxious for my D. What is “the hack?” My daughter has been trying to check but doesn’t seem to find anywhere to do that. Is there a different site to check your status on the Clemson site? Thanks for any guidance

What is “hack”?

@Tea4Two what is the hack?

@LorenaD @camcam2022 just type in the ID # admissions sent you (in the email confirming the application) at this site: https://studentonboarding.app.clemson.edu/#

may be a stupid question…but has anyone gotten “unable to determine…” using the hack and still gotten an acceptance? Just wondering if we shouldn’t even anticipate anything in the mailbox unless I see it change.

Page 9 about half way down has a link to the hack

Here is the hack link, just input your CID. https://studentonboarding.app.clemson.edu

CID is found in you email when they acknowledged receu ing your application

It changes from unable to determine status to something else before letter reaches you.

It changes from unable to determine status to asking for the activation code from your acceptance letter.

anyone else getting this message when you put your CUID in for the hack?: “The activation token you entered does not match the one on record. Please try again.” What does this mean? Does this mean I got in or rejected? Previously it would say “Unable to determine your acceptance status” but now it has changed to the activation token message. Lmk

My daughter received her acceptance to Clemson about 5 days ago. It was a huge envelope with a “congrats you are accepted letter”. It also said they would be offering her an academic scholarship and that the detailed offer would arrive in February.

Oops… Forgot the stats.
OOS: Arizona
National Hispanic Scholar
3.9/4.33 GPA
SAT: 1420 (700 R, 720 M)
Lots of AP, Lots of EC’s, Lots of Community Service
Super competitive school…so her class rank is lower (98 out of 800).

@MAhoose Are you absolutely sure you typed in the correct ID? I haven’t seen anyone else having that issue.

My daughter’s message changed to the accepted one, so I’m hoping she gets the letter soon. Our deal is that we’ve never been to Clemson…just checked it out online and it seems great…but you all sound so enthusiastic about getting accepted, and I’m wondering what it is that is drawing you to Clemson more than other schools. This will be a big decision, and I appreciate your input.

@COSpgsparent for my daughter who is a senior at Clemson now, she loved it and claimed it as her top choice within 15 minutes of stepping foot on campus. Everywhere we looked students were decked out in orange and purple shorts sweats and T’s. She fell in love with the obvious school spirit and could feel the casua family atmosphere immediately. On top of that she loved the “contained” campus, lake, mountains, safety of being more rural, and the beauty of the campus in general. She wanted to go to a large public university for the greater access to research and opportunities, but didn’t want to get lost in the massive crowd; Clemson was the perfect blend of those things. Clemson also has an amazing top ranked alumni network that spans the globe. In her time there she has fallen head over heels for Clemson and is sad to be graduating. We can tell there is something specia in those hills! Now we wait for my son to find out!

@chucktown19 fingers crossed for you!! If the rest is solid there is still a chance!

Couldn’t agree more with @SweetFreedom . I’ve wanted to go to Clemson more than anything in the world these past two years. I visited my Sophomore year and fell in love with its beautiful campus, the nicest people I’ve ever been around, the most insane school spirit in the nation, and it’s perfect backdrop next to lake Hartwell. On top of that, Clemson has consistently been ranked in the top 25 in the nation in academics for public universities. Additionally, Clemson ranks #1 in students who love their school, #1 in safest universities, and #2 in career services in the nation. So I highly recommended you visit, the saying is “there’s something in these hills” and it couldn’t be more true, there’s a magical feeling at Clemson that I personally have longed to be at for years. Really hope I get in!!! Hope that helps @COSpgsparent

Accepted! OOS Daughter (NY) received letter by certified mail yesterday! Accepted to Microbiology with a scholarship TBD in Feb. So happy for her.
