Son accepted OOS

ACT 34
Captain varsity basketball
Has nonprofit donating sports shoes
Lots of other ecs, leadership, job
Congrats everyone!

In state accepted to engineering, 32 ACT, 3.87UW, 8 APs, many music accomplishments, scholarships- good volunteer (music focused). There was no mention of merit scholarship like others had in the letter. Is it possible to be offered later?

Also- DD did not submit for EA (missed it by 2 weeks) but got accepted during EA (which is great).

Enjoy this moment watching her do what she loves. Don’t stress over college. She will end up at the place she should be at.

D24 Accepted OOS GA…

4.0W/4.8UW
#2 in class of 437
35 ACT/ 1530 SAT
7APs… 5:5s 2:4s
Currently in 2 AP classes now
12 Honor Classes
2 Dual Enrollment classes
Oboe Wind Ensemble, Varsity Soccer, multiple clubs, Seceral Honor Society, Local Youth Leadersip Group…
Accepted in College of Engineering with scholarship offer. Applied for Clemson Honors.

Both my sons were deferred OOS by Clemson but ended up getting in RD with 3.8 and 3.7 gpas 1440/1460 on ACTs in 2021 and 2022. So I wouldn’t be too worried with some of the deferred stats I seen in here tonight. Congrats to all!

Agree with this. It seems that the stats for EA are quite a bit higher than what is needed to get in RD.

Your son’s stats sound exactly just like mine. I’m mind blown with the deferral!?! What are the colleges possibly looking for in a student?!

The problem is that my high stat is dejected and has now turned his attention to similar schools he has already gotten into.

So Clemson loses momentum by not accepting more clearly qualified kids.

I know… there will be plenty of kids who will take his spot. …

My daughter got in with a 1370

Deferred is not the end just a new beginning. High SAT/ACT is not what schools are looking for anymore.

I am wondering about that too. If it says they are offering you an academic scholarship, is that different than what we already know they qualify for based on their test scores or class rank for state scholarships?

S24 accepted OOS for business. 4.0 uw 4.6 w, 10 APs, student body president, varsity captain, pt job.

No idea on buttons. He did not view before decisions were released

Unfortunately probably not. Clemson is very tight on merit and assumes most in state kids get Palmetto or Life.
If a merit scholarship is not listed in the letter then chances are slim (but not unheard of) that merit will be awarded when the aid packages are released in March.

Yes

But if the letter states they are being given an academic scholarship, is that Palmetto or Life, or in addition to?

was nursing first choice, or Biological Sciences?
