We are OOS (California) at least 5 kids from our high school applied and three were accepted, the other two were denied, not deferred.

my high school had probably around 20 applicants 3 of us got in. I got an academic scholarship, not sure about anyone else

Exactly, how can you even feel good about a deferral if there is chance they haven’t even looked at your application thoroughly

Hearing that there were some denials from our area. We’re east coast but oos.
Our school tends to have about 30 kids apply EA each year.
This year, I heard 3 were accepted EA.

Someone posted earlier that there were 500 rejections. I don’t know where they got the info, but that’s what they said.

I think the 500 rejections were from last year’s EA cycle (unless they rejected the same number this year). Would love to see this year’s numbers if anyone knows. We were thrilled with a deferral here, my son is a bubble candidate for Clemson so just happy to not be denied. My older son is at Clemson and has had such a wonderful experience. We’ll be so happy with any route to admission - Bridge, Summer, Fall, or Spring admit! We’ll take it!

Can anyone share if they received merit for a high stats student ? Not asking for specific amounts but I believe as top 6% we should have received something . We clicked the “yes” button out of excitement so are we too late to contact the school ?
Thanks for any information !

Clemson isn’t known for generous merit, my daughter is from NJ and was offered $10,000 in 2021, she was offered more from a lot of other publics (but chose Clemson). They used to offer more.

We are out of state and his decision letter also said the same regarding a scholarship
we are pleased to offer you a scholarship
sometime end of March/April

That’s great
 but ugh
only thing I can think is we went TO

That is most likely, many TO colleges still use scores for merit.

Thank you ! Risky but they didn’t match rank and GPA necessarily so we had to do it ! Lol

It’s such a game. My son did use his ACT score. My husband and I were just discussing that they want you to commit and are sending the emails to us now, but nobody knows what the scholarship amount is. The other two schools he had acceptances from already have given specific amounts.

He’s gotten loads of money from other schools just like many of our kids . But this is his dream school so we will have to keep that in mind . Thank you for your input !

This really gets me too when you have an OOS state cost of $200,000+. Heavens we need to know if we’re getting 500, 6000, or 10000. Totally different outcomes depending on the number. The Global Scholars email my D just received from Clemson looks really cool but you have to apply by 3/1. We can’t commit before then. Frustrating.

My daughter ended up applying to 20 colleges, needing merit, some offers came with acceptance, some came later. She didn’t commit to Clemson until the end of April, no need to make decisions now.
