Clemson University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admissions

We are OOS (CA). My '23 son was accepted EA (molecular bio; 4.42W, 3.88 UW, SAT 1360) and now attends as a sophomore, but weren’t aware of ‘button-gate’ then. His '25 brother is in the current EA cycle (engineering; 4.38W, 3.85 UW, SAT 1440) and just checked - his 2 buttons are gone.

It might just be that they didn’t get to him yet.

We’ll go with that for now

Two buttons gone - OOS but def not high stats.

daughter in state lost two buttons… in case you’re curious- submitted scores for nursing 33 ACT, 4.0/5.3 top 6% of class (Palmetto Fellow)

I’m curious about this too. My school you get a 4.3 for A+, 0.5 point bump for Honors, and 1 point bump for AP or DE. My UW is 3.96, W is 4.52, but the highest anyone has is a 4.8. At UTK my UTK GPA is a 4.62, so higher than my school’s GPA.

Daughter has 2 buttons. OOS, but not super high stats.

Pretty much everyone has two links or buttons still on their portal. Last year, did the edit term link/button disappear later? In other words, did the first two drop off, then the edit term link/button dropped off Monday night? Not to be a skeptic, but I’ve heard most OOS applicants get deferred from EA except for super high stat applicants …

Logic says you’re right and I’m not getting my hopes up.

Does anyone know the date of regular admission notification? I’m assuming my OOS son will be deferred. Very good test scores but not a super high GPA.

This is why I don’t put too much stock in comparing weighted GPA. At my son’s school it’s 0.02/semester bump for AP or honors, nothing extra for A+ (still a 4.0). Makes it hard to compare.

You really have to compare unweighted.

In the past it’s been right around Valentine’s Day!

Remember, it’s a “holistic approach” as they say. My first experience with EA at Clemson. My OOS ‘21 grad didn’t have that option and first year on common app and test optional. Good stats but bridged and chose another university.

This is what my sons looked liked last year. Majors were gone first.

It also looks like the “Withdraw Application” button was gone too. Did he get in?

He got deferred EA. Accepted RD. But he is living his best life at USC!

Yeah it seems that the “Edit Term” button disappeared earlier in the week for those that got accepted…correct?
