Still 2

I found out last night that a friend that I haven’t seen in person in probably 5ish years will be in town Thursday. I found out via message that started with “drinks/food thursday?” and my first thought was NOT AT SIX O’CLOCK NO. (Fortunately, she wants later…)

I swear, I am not normally a crazy person.

Also, still two buttons.

I told my son that I found another group of people just as crazy as me. He just laughed.

some ppl yesterday stated they still had 4

Ugh! the worst! My daughter that applied has a chorus concert until who knows when at night on Thursday. She says she is going to look without me. She also told me all buttons were gone… This is torture! LOL.
I feel like she has a small chance- OOS, 1350 SAT 4.38/3.6 GPA, mostly honors, ap and dual classes, plenty of volunteers hours, national honors society, student council, captain of cheer team.

all of them?

Original Button Gater here! Had to jump on and check out this years because we had so much fun with it last year. I think I was one of the first ones to realize that there was a difference in the portals. We don’t know exactly when buttons started disappearing we just know that the first someone pointed it out was on the Monday of the week of. And from that point on people began to lose their buttons up until Wednesday. Then suddenly Wednesday afternoon every person lost their buttons. So we assume that means that those were deferred either because they did not have time to review them or that their basic things they were looking at did not stand out enough that you were pushed through on EA.

I will say I do not remember hardly anyone getting denied though. So I do think they may have been overwhelmed with the amount of EA applications and it was only their second year offering this option.

I will say this and I still stand by this after every single person I have talked to including all my daughters friends (She is a freshmen at Clemson this year and LOVES it). Two factors that I will swear by making the biggest difference in who was accepted EA

#1 Your class ranking - My daughter was top 8% I think they want top 10% or better
#2 Your GPA - Daughter was 4.2 or 4.3 weighted and 4.0 unweighted

I think if those things look good then you get sent straight though. If not then they will start to look at all of the other things you have going for you.

DD was Test optional
No AP classes she only took honors and dual enrollment
lots of EC and service hours and several varsity sports
Only had one letter of recommendation

Hope this helps some of you! And Good LUCK!!!

Let me know if you have questions. Cant believe I was in your shoes a year ago. Its all I could think about for weeks

What major?

My DD is applying for Psychology. I know some are more difficult than others to get EA or even RA.

So helpful! Thank you. Glad to hear your daughter love it!

She is out of State. Did not receive any merit at all though due to doing the test optional.

Thank you for sharing this info.

Do you remember if it started with two buttons disappearing then it proceeded from there to all buttons disappearing? I know it varied in time for many. Just curious. Glad your daughter is enjoying her first year!
