Clemson University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admissions

They use the school profile that the schools send in to make an “educated guess” if the school doesn’t rank. It’s listed as the top importance in the data set.

Deferred though right??

If there was no mention of scholarship money in the acceptance letter. Are they still entitled to financial aid? Thank you!

Current Clemson Freshman mom here. We are OOS. Daughter’s high school did not rank or weight GPA. She was accepted EA last fall with merit. I think they have processes in place to equalize the playing field.

D25 Deferred, TO, 4.0w, great ECs, OOS, tried for the Sports Communication program (which I think is limited). School doesn’t rank (well regarded college prep private school).

Mixed emotions:

3.462 UW/4.154 W GPA; Top 31%; 1240 SAT; PoliSci

and

Admitted EA in-state
3.654 UW/4.738 W GPA; Top 10%; 1240 SAT; Business

Yes, I believe merit and need-based are two separate decisions. Clemson has a lot of info about financial awards (need and merit based) on their website.

Any OOS nursing majors get in on this round?
DD:
34 ACT
4.3 weighted
3 APS, the rest honors

Yes sorry!

Instate Deferred. 4.45. 1270. Polysci. Student body president of huge school. Football. Track. Boys state. Legacy

Dang. I’m sorry.

It’s ok it’s just deferral!

Sorry. New here. I forgot to include: DEFERRED…

I’m sorry, this is fairly shocking.

SAT 1420
Major: Comp Sci (with multiple college CS courses already completed with As & a 5 in AP CS)
GPA: 4.6+, unweighted 3.9 (thanks to a college Calculus II “B”)
OOS
Sibling currently attends Clemson.
Deferred and a bit of a gut-punch.
Her school only has about 60 kids in her grade, so her rank % doesn’t look great…maybe 12th?? That’s the only thing that I think hurt her (unless her SATs were too low??)

I’m getting the sense that in most cases, test scores are making the difference.

1420 seem pretty high to me :woman_shrugging:t2:

Seems like it’s test scores and intended major. If the major is less competitive the scores may not have to be as high.

Hmmm, my son submitted his 1320 and got admitted. We’re also from New Mexico and they had less than 5 kids from NM enroll last year, so maybe that was part of it? Who knows. This entire process is so bizarre!

Jeez that seems crazy! She’ll get up getting in but it’s a cruel process
