She got into nursing!!! In state 33 act 5.3 gpa top 4% of her class!!!
An unweighted 4.0 is the highest, can’t go by weighted because schools weigh differently.
Deferred. 1440 SAT. Business. OOS
Accepted! In state. Top 6% palmetto fellows 5.0 weighted gpa. Lots of extra curricular, job and volunteer.
Microbiology with biomedicine concentration
does anyone know the acceptance rate for deferred applicants? trying to grab onto some hope
Major is also a big factor, especially closed majors.
ours doesn’t rank either
Accepted. Business. OOS (MA) 4.0 uw, 4.8w, 34 ACT. Top 10% (school only ranks every 10%) Seems like these big schools, with so many applications, don’t really take a deep dive into the application in the EA round and maybe only look at a few data points.
Many schools don’t rank anymore but the guidance counselor usually puts where they are in the class (top 5%, 10%, 25%, 50%…).
School counselors should not place rank if the school does not rank. Yes, I’m a school counselor.
I’m not sure if my son knows what the letters say. Seems that TO may have not been the way to go even if under 1400. We do still have an option to add SAT until Jan 10 for the deferral. This wasn’t number one top choice, but was up there for top 5.
Well, they do, for some colleges rank is pretty important, and students will be compared to other students in that school. There are colleges with automatic admits in state based on being let’s say in the top 8%.
I’m feeling the gut punch. I’m trying to figure out if my DD is deferred due to Nursing OOS. With a 34 ACT and 4.3 GPA, 3 APS and the rest honors as ridiculous EC’s, I’m left shaking my head.
Could it be one of those things where they thought she would wind up at a more competitive school?
I’m also wondering. Seems like a lot of deferrals.
Nursing at Clemson is a closed major with very limited spots, but there is still a very good chance of acceptance RD.
Maybe, but this is a top contender. We visited and met with admissions officials. Oh well, hopefully it’s a nursing thing and she just has to practice patience. I tell kids all of the time that you will end up where you are supposed to be. This one just hits a little different.
Thanks for the encouragement. Nursing a toughie…
Is the Health Science major closed?
Deferred - TO - OOS - high GPA - school does not rank or have AP - application would probs need a review beyond stats for all those reasons which I guess will happen next round?
