Clemson University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admissions

Accepted OOS. 31 ACT, 4.0 UW Business. School doesn’t rank but he is top 5% and his GPA would likely show that.

I know it’s easy for me to say because there is an acceptance here, but PLEASE PLEASE don’t let a deferral at these popular schools get you (And particularly your student) too upset. This is essentially round 1…and the expectations for those accepted are absolutely above what ultimately will be the overall accepted pool come RD. The RD will also allow your student to shine in areas that might not have been as big of the admissions counselor’s focus in EA. Getting accepted during EA is great for sure, but it absolutely is not the end all.

(I’ll also add it gives you the opportunity to ADD to your resume. This was an EARLY early application deadline…my son has a stronger ACT score now that if he had been deferred he would have submitted…I bet there are many things students can add if given the chance to expand on their application)

What was the language in the acceptance letters about scholarships? If not in ours, should I assume no scholarship possibility?

Got deffered, anyone know the chances of acceptance?

I’m in the exact same boat. Clemson was not my top. UF is. Hopefully, I can get better news then. At least we didn’t get rejected!

More than likely if not listed in the acceptance letter then there is no merit being offered. However every year there are a few outliers.

“Your record has set you apart from a strong pool of students. Therefore, we are pleased to offer you an academic scholarship. You will receive a detailed financial aid award offer, including scholarships, by the end of March 2025.”

Would Honors College be mentioned in the acceptance letter? Also, is anyone else applying for the Lyceum program? The deadline is in 2 days. We’d completed most of it but after getting deferred at Georgia, she decided to wait and focus on finals next week.

My ‘23 son was deferred from Clemson and got summer start when RD decisions came out. Was accepted EA to UGA, Miami and UF (RD … no EA in 23)! He’s at UF so good luck! Clemson EA decisions are odd for sure. The CDS states they took almost 1100 off waitlist in 2023. Makes no sense.

I think I read that honors college notifications go out mid January.

I know this isn’t a UF page, but do you know if admissions there are really holistic? I know they talk a lot about it. I was just wondering your perspective since you have a kid there.

Confused by it all…
Nursing (which, I know)
OOS
4.3/4.0 Duel enrollment with junior college last two years of high school. All A’s
33 ACT
Class President of the largest public high school in our state.
Cheer Captain
Many other EC activities and leadership

Full rides to both in-state schools due to merit scholarships.
If doing EA, why not do it in Oct? Seems late to get “deferred” in December. Students here are basically getting roommates over Christmas break.
Really rolling the dice to wait on a February admission….
My child’s heart is set on Clemson and she has done everything that could be done for a successful outcome. Again, just confused here.

Did he submit test scores?

Yes- 1340

What I’m seeing with all these high stats deferrals is likely yield protection. Clemson may be assuming your dc may have other stronger options to consider so they are focusing on admitting students that will likely attend. Just a thought!!!
