Clemson University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admissions

Can someone that is deferred receive an admission to the honors college since that application was considered a separate component? Kind of out of order? We were deferred but did get an honors status notification. Waiting for my child to check!

I doubt my son has received a decision, he just sent it in 3 days ago!

Can someone still submit?

Honors application deadline was January 8th

No. The next round of Honors decisions will come out after the Regular Decision admittance date.

So is there another deadline or did we miss it?

No, that was the final deadline

Well, my guy didn’t get into Honors, he seems to be deferred for Honors. They must not have liked his essay - he’s got an unweighted 4.0, counting this year 11 APs, a 35 on his ACT, an Eagle Scout, four year varsity athlete in two sports so I don’t think it’s his resume.

Is there anything like a letter of continued interest for deferred from Honors students? There’s nothing really to show with his grades, they can’t get higher, and no new test scores. But is there some other way to show that this is something that matters to him and that he cares about?

can submit into the ā€˜late cycle’ but no guarantee they will review, if spots filled. My son did this yesterday (a day late). can submit as an enrolled student next year, also.

they may review again with regular decision cycle, or he can apply next year as an enrolled student

Have your son call on Monday and talk to someone at the honors college. He should ask about appealing the decision. Maybe they can let him resubmit a new essay. Honors college application is all about the essay. He should spend time looking at the honors college website and what they value.

WIll do - thank you for the suggestion!

How have people already heard about Honors? Didn’t the deadline just pass?

There were a couple of deadlines - there was an EA Honors deadline that was back in November. That’s when we (and I assume others who are hearing) applied.

Ok, thanks.

When my DC got their acceptance, it included a line about a merit scholarship to be decided later this year. Last night, they received their HC acceptance. Does that have any impact on the merit award?

No Two completely separate things.

Keep in mind it’s $1000 a year to be in the HC (my daughter thinks it’s worth it).
