Yes.
Not sure about that. My son has a 35 ACT and apparently did not get anything.
Does anyone know if the final financial aid packages went out yet? For need based?
Yes, my daughter received an email today with instructions to access her offer.
After hitting admitted studentsā days at his last two remaining choices, S25 committed to Clemson tonight!
Woo hoo!
I feel l thereās a lot of catching up to do in terms of him looking for a roommate and knowing whatās what.
Heās in the waitlist for honors, which complicates things. He should find out if heās in shortly after May 1, but half the reason he wanted in was for the housing. So does he start looking for a non-honors roommate now and back out if he gets in? Just forget honors? What benefit does it really give anyway?
And for anyone in the know - can you tell me the name of the actual Clemson parents facebook page? There are so many fakes out there run by businesses, I donāt want to accidentally join one of themā¦
Congrats! Wishing you peace, him success, and all of you much happiness,
Any group with the graduating year is set up by a third party, humans of university, they sell merchandise. The main parent page is Clemson University Parents | Facebook
There is no official university FB parent page, but there are two main parent pages; both are run by actual Clemson parents.
This is the first; you will need to submit proof of commitment from iroar. They do this to try to keep scammers and non parents out of the group. They donāt allow sale postings of any kind and donāt allow anonymous posts.
CLEMSON UNIVERSITY PARENTS
This is the second; the rules are little more laxed and allow anonymous posts. Both have good information, and parents are often members of both groups.
CLEMSON UNIVERSITY PARENTS and FAMILIES
There are also groups by graduation year; these are run by a 3rd party business. Some have actual parent mods, but are not fully parent āownedā so to speak.
Congratulations! My daughter is a current freshman and is in the honors college. She chose not to live in the honors dorm this year, but I do know that for this year at least, some non-honors students were able to room with honors students in the honors dorm.
In my opinion, the biggest perk to being in honors is being able to register early. My daughter registered last week without stress and got all of her classes. Right now, the parent FB page is full of upset parents whose kids are having really difficult times getting the classes they want. There is also additional honors advising.
Happy to answer any other questions.
Son just got off waitlist this morning..Summer Start.. Clemson was his 1st choice until waitlisted then fell in love and committed to Penn State (Smeal) but now seems to be torn on what to do.. He is going for Financeā¦he thought he was over Clemson but now they quickly pulled his interest back and is not sure what to do.. Is summer start worth it??? Which in the long run will be better for finance???
I canāt comment on what is better for finance as I do not know. But I am curious if it was a portal update? An email? both? Or maybe a phone call? Also - I am sure you are aware - summer start is an additional cost so we declined based on that (Summer start put us over the edge). I also know with my older kid that summer are precious and needed for making money and interning for work experience.
There was an email that stated the portal has been updated
I went to Clemson. Majored in finance, got a job in investment banking. Hard to do from Clemson. My senior daughter got into Clemson and Smeal. Sheās committed to Wisconsin after receiving an OOS scholarship and small business cohort program within their business program. She was going to choose PSU over Clemson and for finance I supported this all the way. Smeal is a stronger finance program with better alumni connections in my opinion. But, Clemson is a wonderful school and a lot of fun. Academically, Iād choose PSU but thereās more to the choice than just academics. Canāt go wrong with either one. Clemson will overall have better regional job placement in Atlanta or Charlotte. PSU better for nyc. But a great student can do anything from anywhere.
My daughter is graduating with a finance major/math minor in 2 weeks. She just received a nice deanās award. She wanted her internship to be local to us (nyc metro) and had many nice choices. She will start her big girl job in July in NJ, which pays well. She chose Clemson because she initially fell in love with it, and still loves everything about it, including the department faculty.
Interesting! I heard they werenāt going to accept waitlisted students until June, but maybe they are short on numbers! This could be encouraging for our studentās whose first choice was Clemson and is waitlisted. I randomly checked this feed after taking a break from it, just to see if Clemson is starting to release more offers. We have really good options in Gies and Kelley, but if Clemson comes crawling back with a Fall start, not sure what our student will decide. Currently they are of the forget Clemson they didnāt want me mindset. Which I kind of agree but then again, who knows. But Kelly and Gies being better ranked, it will be interesting. Itās so much to weigh, feels like home versus better ranking and company connections. I feel bad for the kids with these tough decisions ahead. I just hope Clemson doesnāt drag this out. Does anyone know if they eventually decline students or will they keep on waitlist until the waitlist expires at Fall start?
My son was just accepted off the waitlist.. it is moving
Was he accepted fall start? I wonder whether the majority of waitlist acceptances will be fall start as opposed to summer or bridge.
Yes but to 2nd major
