Clinton Correctional Facility Saga

Did she give them money before their prison break or was she going to give it to them when she picked them up? Money might not have been very much use for them unless an accomplice came and got them. I thought I read that they have a cell phone.

$57,000 goes a long way in Upstate NY. But is it worth it?

$57K also goes a long way in upstate NY because her husband worked also, presumably for around the same salary. $114K goes even farther.

I am sure practically everyone is employed by the prison. There are more prisoners in the town than normal (?) people. Unhealthy situation.

One down.

Good. I know, this sounds pretty callous… $$$ saved.

No one is going to be weeping over him.

You’d have to pay me a lot more than $57k to work in a prison. You talk about your inhospitable work environments. Yech!

But for the people in those small towns where these prisons are it’s a very good paying job to have. Plus, the benefits are great.

Some make a lot more than $57K, too. Add in the benefits and it’s not shabby at all.

Today’s great news. One gone; one likely gone or captured shortly. Probably gone, as I’m sure he has no intention of going back. I’ve had a feeling for the last 24 hours it would be today.

Both now confirmed dead. First Matt, now Sweat: Today’s 2 great pieces of news.

Who is reporting Sweat’s death? I’m only seeing that he’s still on the run.

Sweat’s not dead yet and there is more great news today besides this story.

No. Nothing reported yet. H got a few minutes heads up about the first guy because he has teams up there in the communications trucks and they can hear everything going on. His phone hasn’t dinged in awhile.

And its now dark which should be making it very difficult.

I actually think that Sweat has surrendered, according to Tweets.

If he surrendered, he’s smart. I think he could tell it was just a short while before he’d be shot dead too. It will be good to get confirmation so they can call off the search and let life and personnel return to ‘normal.’

So far, haven’t seen anything online suggesting Sweat has surrendered, just that the hunt for him continues.

No, there has been no surrender.

OK. Still the only news I’m following today.
So thanks for the updates, guys.

Syracuse.com has been awesome over the last 3 weeks. Definitely the go-to place for this story.

This story will be a flash in the pan. The other big news stories of the week are ones for the history books. :)>-
