<p>Was Clinton formally impeached or was he not? I never followed the case (I was in grade school when this all happened). I have to research this case for a social science class. But I’m confused about the end result. For some reason, I keep thinking that Clinton was indeed impeached. But from Time.com, “The Senate acquits the President on both impeachment charges. With 67 votes required to convict on either count, the perjury charge fails, with 55 voting against and 45 in favor, while the obstruction of justice charge tally is 50-50.” So does this mean that he was NOT impeached?</p>
<p>He was impeached. Impeached basically means there is enough evidence for congress try and oust you from office. There is a better definition but I don’t know it nor do I care to know it.</p>

<p>The House “impeaches” you, which is sort of like formally charging you. Then the Senate does the trial. Clinton was impeached by the House of reps, but acquited by the Senate.</p>
